International Racing: SHA TIN 20 September

Racing this Sunday sees a stacked ten race programme at Sha Tin Racecourse with a host of top quality racing on offer, the top bet and value bet, should be followed closely.

RACE 1

SKY GEM is the
top selection for the opening contest. He ran on from far back last time out
over further and his versatile nature suggests that the drop in distance should
suit. His last win came under Magic Moreira in May and it is encouraging the
see the pair reunited for this contest. HAY
RUN won his penultimate race under
Derek Leung and he has the form to pose a threat to the top selection. ART OF RAW moved up like a winner in
his last start and was only caught with 80m left to the finish. If reproducing
that type of effort then he should be right there at the business end of
affairs.

RACE 2

PARTY EVERYDAY
and Karis Teetan look difficult to oppose in the second race. The pair are in
search of a hat-trick of wins and despite shouldering top weight, they look the
ones to beat in this contest. SKYEY
SUPREME was clear second best last time out but he should have finished
closer to the winner that day as he got cramped for room at the 400m mark. With
better luck in running he looks a serious threat to the top selection. LUCKY WIN WIN finished third under
Vagner Borges in his last run and a reproduction of that effort should see him
run into the money.

RACE 3

CARRY THE DIAMOND
ran on nicely over the minimum trip for Chad Schoefield on debut. He jumps from
an inside barrier position and will come on leaps with that run under the belt.
FABULOUS EIGHT has finished runner-up in his last three outings and his next
career win looks overdue. It is encouraging to see him team up with Magic
Moreira again and the pair look the obvious danger on form. UNITED WE STAND is an in form pacemaker
and if he can overcome his wide draw without using up too much energy then he
can run into the money. 

RACE 4

CHEERFUL LEADER
can find a form return in the fourth race and represents decent each way value
for Hong Kong racing pundits. He had no luck in running last time and if
recapturing his prior form then he should be right there in the run down to the
wire. Chad Schoefield takes the ride and the pair will be tough to peg back in
the closing stages. MR ALDAN hit the
front convincingly at the 250m mark last time and won in impressive fashion. If
repeating that type of effort then he can make it back-to-back wins in this
contest. CHARITY GO didn’t benefit
from a slow pace last time out but still managed to run on well for third. With
a more solid pace on offer he should be able to run into the money.

RACE 5

BELUGA hasn’t
race since March which is a concern but he is packed with ability and would
have strengthened nicely during the break. Also it is encouraging that Zac
Purton has kept faith in the ride. MONKEY
JEWELLERY has finished runner-up in his last two outings and looks the obvious
threat on paper, despite having to shoulder top weight in this contest. WINNING STEED is an Australian-bred
having his first start in Hong Kong. Watch the betting with regards to his
chances.

RACE 6

SCORES OF FUN was
a debut winner at this course and he will be looking to keep his unbeaten
record intact. He jumps from pole position and is possibly still ahead of the
handicapper at such an early stage of his career. CLASSIC POSH ran on nicely last time out despite having an awkward
start and he must be respected with a claiming apprentice in the irons. GOLDEN MISSION hasn’t finished far off
the winner in his last four outings and if overcoming his wide draw then he can
run into the money.

RACE 7

Jockey Neil Callan has interestingly opted to ride CASIMIRO over LEADING FORTUNE in this race. Both bring attractive form into this
race and they should be right there in the fight to the finish. PARTY GENIUS ran on steadily last time
out despite taking a bump at the start and getting crowded for room in the
race. Karis Teetan is in scintillating form and should be able to get the best
out of him where it matters most.

RACE 8

CHEVALIER PRINCE
comes in nicely handicapped and at the weights looks a massive contender in the
eighth race. He drops back to the seven furlongs in which he won his
penultimate start and should be able to get back to winning ways. THE ROCK is yet to win a race but he
will definitely be competitive in this class. Magic Moreira steps aboard for
the first time and the pair will benefit from a good pace up front. GREAT TREASURE ran on nicely from off
the pace and he has the form to upset from his neat barrier position.

RACE 9

WINNING DREAMER
is the best bet on today’s card. He is unbeaten from two starts and still looks
ahead of his rating at this stage. He tries an extra 200m and if relishing the
extra distance on offer then he will take a power of beating in the ninth race.
CHICKEN DANCE is another one that
goes for a hat-trick of wins but the only concern in that he returning from a
lengthy break. If he returns fit to the races then he may be one to pick up the
pieces should the top choice fluff his lines. TEMPLE OF HEAVEN is the
unexposed horse in the race and with the natural improvement that is expected,
he can run into the money.

RACE 10

LAKESHORE EAGLE and
Karis Teetan reeled off the hat-trick last time out and the manner in which he
won all three of those races suggests that there is plenty more to come from
this invidual. He jumps from a wide draw and if getting some cover he will be
tough to beat in the lucky last race. EXCELLENT
PROPOSAL got up where it matters most last time despite not finding a clear
passage in the running. This John Size inmate in improving rapidly and is still
fairly unexposed in this class. ASSIMILATE
has performed well in his last two runs under Antoine Hamelin and the form of
those two races suggest that he can run into the money.
