With regards to the Jockey’s Championship, it is all square at the top with both Joao Moreira and Zac Purton both on 123 winners going into tonight’s meeting. The latter has a full book of rides, while Moreira is not riding at this meeting. This will give Purton the perfect opportunity to take the outright lead and gain an advantage.

Race 1
SAM’S LOVE is the value bet on this evening’s programme. He should have finished closer to the winner in his last start over seven furlongs on the turf surface, but he was hampered at the 1000m mark and the 700m mark. The manner in which he finished his race off down the straight was eye-catching. The switch to the all-weather track should not pose an issue as he has finished second on the surface in the past. In-form Antoine Hamelin retains the ride and with a bit of luck in running, the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure. GOLDEN MISSION has shown signs of returning to best form in his last two starts. Despite receiving a bump at the start last time, the way he kept on up the straight was encouraging. Vincent Ho gets the ride for the first time and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of the son of Rock ‘N’ Pop where it matters most. LITTLE THUNDER got back to winning ways in his last start over this course and distance under today’s claiming apprentice Victor Wong. If repeating that effort tonight, he should be right there in the run down to the wire.

Race 2
HIDDEN SPIRIT is one of the better bets on tonight’s card. He has won his last two starts over 1650m on this course well under tonight’s pilot Neil Callan. The manner in which he has finished off those races suggests he is ready to take on the nine furlongs this evening. From pole position, he has a very good chance of notching up the hat-trick of wins. VIRTUS STAR has not finished too far off the winner in his last four starts. He should have finished closer last time as he was crowded for running room at the 75m mark. Zac Purton who has finished second once and third once from four starts aboard the son of Sebring steps back into the saddle. With a bit of luck in running, he should be one of the leading contenders for the placings. HAY RUN showed good signs of returning to best form last time, when finishing 1.25 lengths behind the top selection. He should have finished much closer that day as he was crowded at the start and hampered at the 400m mark. He does have a wide draw to contend with this evening, but he gets the services of Antoine Hamelin who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 3
EXCEL DELIGHT has good consistent recent form over this course and distance. He has won once, finished second four times and third once from seven starts over this track and trip. The son of Exceed and Excel gets the services of Antoine Hamelin for the first time and he should get rewarded for consistency tonight. THOU SHALL SING is better than his last two starts at Happy Valley over six furlongs suggests. He showed that he enjoys racing on the all-weather surface when winning and finishing third in his previous two outings. Regular pilot Vincent Ho is in the saddle this evening and with a bit of luck in running from the wide barrier position, he should be the one to throw out the biggest challenge to the top selection. PEARL CHAMPION has not finished too far off the winner in his last four starts. He was unlucky in his latest effort as he had to check at the 150m mark. He tries the all-weather track for the first time and if taking to the track, he should be involved in the fight out to the finish.

Race 4
BUDDIES got back to winning ways on the turf track over seven furlongs last time. He loves racing on the all-weather surface as he has won three times, finished second twice and third twice from as many outings on this track. Jimmy Chau who won on him last time retains the ride and the combination can notch up a quick double. MONGOLIAN KING won his last start over this course and distance well under tonight’s pilot Karis Teetan. He jumps from a handy position this evening and if continuing his good run of form, he should be the one to pick up the pieces should the top selection fluff his lines. RAGING BLITZKRIEG did it the hard way when racing four-wide around the turn in his last start when finishing behind the second selection. He has a much better barrier position this evening and should finish a lot closer. Chad Schofield retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

Race 5
SKYEY SUPREME showed good signs of returning to best form when trying this course and distance for the first time. He raced from a handy position that day and stayed on well up the straight. If confirming his recent improvement, he has a good chance of going one better in this line-up. STRIKING MR C finished a length behind the top selection in the race referred to above. He had things his own way in front that day but was caught in the final 100m. He has struck up a good partnership with Derek Leung as they have a record of two wins and a second-place finish from six starts. He is likely to adopt the same tactics this evening and may be hard to peg back in the closing stages. HANDSOME REBEL’S last two starts on the turf have been fair. The switch to the all-weather surface should not pose an issue as he has placed on the track in the past. Zac Purton steps back into the saddle tonight and on best form shown, the combination should be right there in the run down to the wire.

Race 6
SUPER POWER MAN is the best bet on tonight’s card. He is lightly raced having had just the three starts to date. He set the pace over this course and distance last time and despite hanging out up the straight, he held all challengers at bay. He does take a step up in class this evening, but he looks to have more in the tank. If keeping on a straight line, he should be hard to peg back in the closing stages. GOOD FOR YOU’S last three starts have been good. The manner in which he rallied up the straight in his last start over this course and distance was encouraging. Apprentice Dylan Mo knows the son of Thorn Park well and if continuing their good run of form, they should be one of the leading contenders for the placings. VICTORY IN HAND has not finished too far off the winner in his last four starts. He should have finished a lot closer last time as he was hampered at the 900m mark and 500m mark. Jockey Antoine Hamelin rides for the first time and he may be able to get that little bit extra out of the son of O’Reilly where it matters most.

Race 7
THIS ONE’S FOR YOU just got up to win his last start over this course and distance. He has produced some decent form on this surface having won twice, finishing second three times and third twice from thirteen outings. He meets a similar type of field this evening and has a good chance of notching up his third career victory. PARTY EVERYDAY finished a head behind the top selection in his last start. He quickened well at the 650m mark and kept on well at the business end. He is better off at the weights with his conqueror this evening and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the finishing post. MEGATRON got back to winning ways in his last start over this course and distance. Despite receiving a bump at the start, he managed to find himself in front and kept on well to hold all challengers at bay. His wide barrier position should not pose an issue as he is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy. With claiming apprentice Alfie Chan in the saddle once again, he cannot be ignored.

Race 8
CALIFORNIA CONCORD produced a promising debut effort over six furlongs at Happy Valley last time. He set the pace that day and kept on well at the business end to finish two lengths behind the winner. The son of Fastnet Rock would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one they all have to beat. UTOPIA LIFE has good consistent form lines to his credit. He has won once, finished second four times and third once from seven starts over this course and distance. He gets the services of claiming apprentice Jimmy Chau and with a bit of luck in running from his wide draw, he should pose the biggest threat to the top choice. MEGA HEART got back to winning ways in his last start over this course and distance, under tonight’s pilot Antoine Hamelin. He likes racing over this track and trip as he has won twice, finished second four times and third once from twelve outings. If repeating his latest effort, he should be right there in the fight out to the finish.

Race 9
GREAT TREASURE has not got the most consistent form, but his last effort over this course and distance was decent. He did not get off to the best of starts that day, but the manner in which he rallied up the straight was encouraging. Vincent Ho who rode him last time retains the ride and he will have a much better idea of how to get the best out of the son of Husson this evening. TOUCH OF LUCK caught the eye when winning his last start over this course and distance. He was bumped at the start and hampered at the 600m mark, but despite that managed to notch up the victory. Vagner Borges knows the son of Hard Spun well and with a bit of luck in running, the combination should be right there in the run down to the wire. ENFOLDING should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was hampered at the 700m mark. He runs well for Zac Purton as he has won once and finished second three times from six starts under his guidance. With a bit of luck from his wide barrier position, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
