Race 1 – 06:15 – 1400m
– Class 5 Handicap
Selections:  1 – 2

KANBEKI MOLLY has
also dropped down to a competitive mark as he reverts to Class 5 level, having
won his only other attempt in this sort of company prior to this. He boxed on
well from a tough draw last time out, over 1200m and the step back up to the
1400m will suit. From a much-improved barrier this time, he gets the assistance
of the 10-pound claiming apprentice and that will bring him right into
contention. HURRICANE HUNTER appears
to have slipped to a competitive rating since dropping into this class. Drawn
towards to the outside once again, he will be looking to utilize that good turn
of foot he has, if opting for the patient route. The blinkers go back on and on
his current credentials, with Purton taking the ride this time, he rates a big
threat. BUNDLE OF ENERGY is another
recent class dropper who finds conditions to suit here. He has been knocking on
the door for some time now and with Moreira taking the mount this time out, he
looks a big threat.
Race 2 – 06:45 – 1400m
– Class 5 Handicap
Selections: 1 – 2 – 11
– 6 – 3
SEIZE THE SPIRIT
has continued that good run of form since rising into this class two runs back.
He returns to Sha Tin after that short campaign at the Valley course and brings
with him, a useful course and distance record here. Antoine Hamelin takes the
ride and he looks a major contender here. GALAXY
RACER
also returns to the Sha Tin circuit after a short stint at Happy
Valley. He appears to have found the right sort of form to make a big
impression in this class and if Joao Moreira can get across from barrier 11, he
will be one of the leading contenders at the business end. YEE CHEONG LUCKY won his last start and despite the 5-pound
penalty, he should be competitive once again, with the claimer retaining the
ride.
Race 3 – 07:15 – 1000m
– Class 4 Handicap
Selections: 1 – 9 – 3
– 7 – 10
FABULOUS EIGHT
seems to have found a good spot of form and that win in his last start was
certainly a win full of merit, considering the wide barrier he had to overcome.
Moreira retains the ride from pole position, and he has the credentials to
follow up. NEXT MODEL gave a very
good account of himself last time out, when having his third career start and
his first for this yard. He returns to the same course and distance, and with
scope for more improvement, deserves plenty of respect. EL JEFE had excuses in that recent attempt, and he returns to the
same course and distance where he won his penultimate start. With this being
just his 6th career start, he deserves plenty of respect with the
expected improvement still to come.
Race 4 – 07:45 – 1200m
– Class 3 Handicap
Selections: 2 – 12 – 11
– 3 – 4
QUADRUPLE DOUPLE
has an eye-catching record over this course and distance and he clearly has no
trouble performing in this class, having picked up two wins from his six
attempts at this level. Drawn 5, he gets the services of the 10-pound claiming
Chau and on his current credentials he should be very tough to peg back in the
final 200m. UNIQUE TREASURE has been
in solid form since changing stables and he looks set for a big performance off
his current rating of 62. Moreira takes the ride from a very handy draw and if
finding a smoother passage through, after an interrupted trip last time, he’ll
be right there. CALIFORNIA TURBO finds
another tough draw to overcome, but he arrives with a record that warrants
respect. If finding some luck in running, he should be able to throw his hat
into the ring.
Race 5 – 08:15 – 1200m
– Class 4 Handicap
Selections: 10 – 2 – 9
– 1 – 5
GENERAL TRUMP
enjoyed the return to this course and distance last time out, after a decent
two start campaign on the All-Weather where he was drawn wide on both
occasions. Antoine Hamelin retains the ride from another very useful draw and
on his course and distance record, the son Rothesay must be considered in all
bets. BRIGHT KID won his last start
when dropping to this trip. Despite the 6-pound penalty received for that win,
Zac Purton remains faithful to the ride and that will give his followers plenty
of confidence. Drawn well, he must be included. FIGHTER BOY has been thereabouts in his three starts so far. That
latest effort when stepping up to the 1200m may have come a touch too soon for
him, but he should have plenty of improvement to come and from a useful draw,
must be included.
Race 6 – 09:05 – 1400m
– Class 4 Handicap
Selections: 2 – 6 – 10
– 9 – 1
PARTY GENIUS has
been drawn wide in his last three starts, since stepping up to this course and
distance. He certainly hasn’t been disgraced, having been right there in his
last two efforts. He gets a much-improved draw this time and with Zac Purton
retaining ride, he looks very tough to oppose. SO WE JOY looks competitive off his current mark of 51 and he will
be looking to make a big impression after a useful first attempt over this
course and distance last time out. He arrives with some decent form to his name
and with more improvement to come, should be one of the leading contenders in
the final stages. WINWIN THIRTYTHREE
found very little luck in running last time, when finding himself drawn in the
cheap seats. That has his second start since rising to this class and despite
finding another tricky draw here, he brings some solid credentials with him and
deserves respect with Moreira retaining the ride.
Race 7 – 09:40 – 2000m
– Class 4 Handicap
Selections: 2 – 7 – 6
– 11 – 9
KUNGFUMASTER PANDA
has dropped drastically in the ratings in his last few starts. He dropped into
this class last time out and did well to make late headway, when overcoming a
tough draw. Drawn 5 here, he should relish the slight step up in trip and with
the 10-pound claimer doing duty, he should be a big runner here. NATURAL STORM went down by a short-head
last time out, when having just his fourth career start, his second since
stepping up to the 1800m. Drawn well this time, he steps up to the 2000m and on
his current form trajectory, cannot be discounted. JIMMU hasn’t had much luck with draws in his last three starts, but
he showed great resolve to box on for an eye-catching 0,75-length defeat in his
latest attempt. That was his fourth start since dropping into this class and
from an improved draw here, he’ll be a major threat to the top two selections.
Race 8 – 10:10 – 1200m
– Class 3 Handicap
Selections: 11 – 3 – 2
– 1 – 4
FLYING SWORD
returns to the turf, where he was showing promising signs prior to that
disappointing two start campaign on the All-Weather surface. Drawn 1, he gets
the services of the inform Karis Teetan, and he’ll be launching a big challenge
from just behind the leading line. STANLEY
PARK
appears to have slipped to a competitive mark and as his form suggests,
he should find the winners box soon. The son of Duke Of Marmalade lands a tough
draw this time, but with the 10-pound claimer up, he should have the gate speed
to find the early lead and that will bring him right into contention. HANDSOME BO BO was in solid form on the
Turf, prior to his last start on the All-Weather over 1650m. He is much better
over this shorter trip and with Joao Moreira in the irons, he should be
involved in the finish.
Race 9 – 10:40 – 1600m
– Group 3 Handicap
Selections: 8 – 1 – 4
– 2 – 3
It’s the headliner on the programme and should be an
intriguing affair over the mile, with 11 contenders going to post. BEAUTY LEGACY has only just started to
get going in Hong Kong and he lands a plum draw for this Group 3 attempt. He
arrives on the back of some solid form and despite this being his first at this
level, he has a very handy galloping weight and should be one of the leading
contenders at the business end. SOUTHERN
LEGEND
was super impressive when beating Beauty Generation over the mile at
Gr1 level last time out, at level weights. He returns to the same course and
distance and on his current form, he’s expected to feature prominently once again.  HARMONY
VICTORY
steps up in class after showing up well in recent times. He was
unlucky not to win over this course and distance last time out, adding to an
already useful record over this track and trip. Shinn retains the ride and the
pair is worth including for those wider perms.
Race 10 – 11:15 – 1400m
– Class 3 Handicap
Selections: 5 – 8 – 2
– 4 – 6
FANTASTIC SHOW
has continued his fantastic form into
this class, by winning his last two starts and making it four on the bounce.
All four wins have come over this course and distance and despite the fact that
he has taken a hammering in the ratings, he finds pole position with Joao
Moreira retaining the ride and he is clearly in the form of his life right now.
If all goes to plan, it is hard to not picture him as one of the leading
contenders here and he’ll be worth following once again. PRIVATE ROCKET looks well handicapped at the moment and he gets the
added benefit of the 10-pound claim off his back, with apprentice Chau doing
duty. Drawn well and with a useful record over this course and distance, he
should be a big factor in the finish. STAR
OF YUEN LONG
showed solid improvement last time out, when returning to this
1400m circuit. He found traffic in the closing stages he’ll be hoping for
better luck in running this time around. From just off the leading line, the
son of Makfi should be worth including.
Race 11 – 11:50 – 1400m
– Class 3 Handicap
Selections: 5 – 7 – 2
– 3 – 6
MR CROISSANT
returns to the Turf after a disappointing effort on the All-Weather last time out.
He steps back up to the 1400m where he has picked up an impressive record of
4-wins and 4-seconds from 10 attempts. From pole position, Chad Schoefield
takes the mount and he looks the likely winner of the last. Joao Moreira picks
up the ride on the debutante, LUCKY
EXPRESS
, who arrives with two wins from three attempts in Australia. The
3-year old son of Toronado lands a useful draw first up and he’ll be worth
keeping an eye on in the canter past.  CALIFORNIA WHIP drops back into this
class and looks well handicapped for this return to the 1200m trip. Antoine
Hamelin takes the mount and he will be a definite Jackpot inclusion.
