Race 4.

ASK NINO showed marked improvement to win his last start over this c&d by just under a length and a half when returning from a 12 week rest. He hit the front at the 250M mark that day and then went on to hold off all challengers over the closing stages. He jumps from gate six and could be the one that they all have to beat. MYSTERY ELEMENT is drawn one inside the top choice and won his last outing by a neck when dropping down to six furlongs, despite being friendless in the betting markets. He steps up in trip here, but did finish second over 1500M in his penultimate run, so this should not be an issue. PROVOCATIVE MAN followed up his penultimate run victory over this c&d with a fifth-place finish next time out over a mile, 2.3L off the winner. He tried to go from jump to wire that day and seems sure top appreciate the drop in distance. His draw three will do him no harm.

Race 5.

ISIS BRUMBY goes for his quartet of victories after completing his hat-trick last time out over five furlongs, when putting four lengths between himself and the opposition. All three of the gelding’s wins have been recorded over the minimum trip, but he is lightly raced having only had the four starts to date, with his only defeat coming when making his debut over 1050M. He steps up in journey today, but the manner in which he has finished off his races suggest that this should not be a problem. He has gate eight to negotiate, but is nevertheless taken to be the best bet on the day’s card. PRINCESS RULES is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys and who has finished fourth in her last two runs since returning from a 33 week break, the latest when just over two and a half lengths back from the winner over 1300M. She raced wide that day, but was only run out of it late. She has a kinder draw four and could emerge as the biggest danger to the former. AERIAL COMBAT missed out on his hat-trick when a disappointing nineth last time out over 1300M, 8.2l behind the victor, but the form of that race has been franked and he should not be lightly dismissed. He likes to race handy in his races and should appreciate the drop in distance.

Race 6.

ABSOLUTE BONZA has his hat-trick run after winning his last two starts over five furlongs, the latest by a neck. He has also won a barrier trial since then and although having to deal with the widest draw of them all in gate eight, he looks to be the value bet on today’s program. HAZAR is seldom far off the action and finished strongly before ending up in second place last time out over six furlongs, just a half length behind the winner. From his handy draw four, he should be right up there when they hit the line. THREE STRIPES returns from a 25 week break, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, finishing second in the latest. He had finished second in his two runs prior to disappointing in his last start over 1300M before the rest, all of 15.4L behind the victor. He will be hoping to bounce back to his better form today.

Race 7.

A 4yr old filly and a 7yr old mare could fight out the finish of this race and complete the exacta. SENDING LOVE showed sudden improvement to win her maiden race over six furlongs by a head last time out at this venue, when returning from a 17 week absence. She went from gun to tape to win that contest and will likely use that early gate speed today to move across from gate nine without expending too much energy. MISS READY NOW has consistent formlines to her name, having finished fourth, second and third in her last three outing after winning over six furlongs at this track before taking a lengthy 88 week break. She is drawn one outside the top pick, but is likely to turn in another honest performance today. HINVICTUS on the other hand has cracked pole position. He won his penultimate start over 1100M by 1.3L and then finished sixth next time out over five furlongs, 4.8L back from the winner. The form of that race has however been franked and he should be included in all bets.
