Race 8: FOXY PRINCESS (9)

Race 2: ELUSIVE TRADER (4)

Jockey: A DOMEYER – Trainer: G ENNION

The speedy ELUSIVE TRADER has shown smart form since his moderate debut and he renews his rivalry with SHADOWING from the Marshall camp. The top selection finished half a length ahead of the latter when the pair contested a high quality c & d event in early May and both runners finished close-up in their subsequent efforts.

TOP BET

Race 4: SOMMERSONNE (2)
Jockey: R FOURIE  – Trainer: G KOTZEN

The injury-plagued SOMMERSONNE has continued her progress after returning from the lengthy 25-week absence and she fought hard when going down narrowly over a mile a fortnight ago. She had FASHION FORCE just over one length further adrift and can go one better from her good draw on her peak effort.

Race 7: TEVEZ (1)
Jockey: A DOMEYER – Trainer: C BASS-ROBINSON

The quality veteran campaigner TEVEZ was impressive when he beat a few of today’s rivals, including NASTY HARRY over the minimum trip last month and he is again best in at the weights on official ratings. Of course the seven-year-old has no issue with this extra furlong and he can follow-up on his peak effort.

Race 8: FIRST SWALLOW (5)
Jockey: C OFFER – Trainer: B CRAWFORD

FIRST SWALLOW escaped with just the minimum two-pound penalty for her gutsy last triumph over shorter. There was much merit in that performance as the bay daughter of Kahal raced wide throughout the contest and she has a victory over this extra furlong to her credit.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY
Race 3: SACRED NIGHT (7)
Jockey: G CHEYNE   – Trainer: G KOTZEN

The juveniles could dominate the betting market and the finish of this maiden seven-furlong contest. The well-related SACRED NIGHT expectedly failed to stay the mile in his below-par last effort but should prove to be a completely different proposition over today’s shorter trip. Of course, he stayed on for 3rd over this c & d in his penultimate showing and the bay colt should stake a serious claim from pole position.
