THIRSK
Race 1 No4 BONITA B (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Nicola Currie
While it’s disappointing to connections that BONITA B hasn’t won so far, the Oasis Dream filly has suffered from greenness and could be advantaged competing in a bigger field today. She was unfortunate to run into Mayfair Stroll at Lingfield when she was clearly second best, the form having been boosted when her conqueror placed in a hot nursery at the Goodwood Festival.
Race 7 No1 MARVEL
Trainer: Julie Camacho – Jockey: Josh Quinn
MARVEL is not one to risk your house on but this long-standing maiden could end the drought in a race that’s cut up favourably for him. Back to six furlongs he could pounce off a waiting ride, which is the only way to ride him.
MUSSELBURGH
Race 2 No6 LADY RAEBURN (Nap)
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Ben Curtis
Mehmas filly LADY RAEBURN was weak in the market when second to Misty Ayr on her Hamilton introduction. More streetwise now, she can trump recent course winner Mytilda.
Race 7 No4 HAIZOOM
Trainer: Keith Dalgleish – Jockey: Luke Morris
G For Gabrialnsets the standard but is vulnerable to an improver, with HAIZOOM fitting that bill on debut for her trainer. The Sea The Stars filly ended her spell in England with a game success at Sandown back in June which showed she can be a force in handicaps. On just a fifth career start tonight there should be further progression to come.
BRIGHTON
Race 2 No6 WONDERFUL WORLD (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: David Probert
WONDERFUL WORLD will be too good for these if able to reproduce his Brocklesby Stakes running, when second to subsequent Windsor Castle Stakes victor Chipotle. The Bungle Inthejungle colt has not been without his issues, hence an absence of four months, but went well in his prep on grass earlier in the week.
Race 7 No8 SOMETHING LUCKY (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Atwater – Jockey: William Carson
The admirably consistent SOMETHING LUCKY can take home another cheque in the nightcap. The grey has gone 17 starts since his last win just over a year ago, with nine placed efforts, and is capable of getting into the shake-up as the value option.
NEWMARKET
Race 2 No5 RADIO CAROLINE (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: William Buick
Channon has plundered this seller in the past and must be respected fielding a horse that ran at Royal Ascot in RADIO CAROLINE. The daughter of Sixties Icon showed gritty determination to open her account at Haydock, and though only beating one home in the Chesham was not entirely disgraced. She takes a step down from nurseries and has to be respected with Buick an eye-taking booking.
Race 4 No5 MAKRAM
Trainer: Roger Charlton – Jockey: James Doyle
MAKRAM gained a deserved first success of the campaign at Sandown, and is in a good place to go back to back for a stable running into some form. The Make Believe gelding can outpoint fellow four-year-old Boss Power in a race the pair could dominate.
HAYDOCK PARK
Race 3 No8 TRIPLE TIME (Nap)
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Andrea Atzeni
Ryan likes to bring his top juveniles to the Ashton-In-Makerfield course and Frankel colt TRIPLE TIME can show he’s in that select group. He represents a race that has fuelled a handful of winners, and just needs to make a slight forward step over this more suitable mile to open his account.
Race 6 No5 SIYATA
Trainer: Roger Charlton – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
SIYATA swooped to conquer at Ffos Las when new waiting tactics were employed on the daughter of Sijouni. From just a 2lb higher mark she can follow-up and could be one to run up a sequence during the remainder of the summer.
Race 7 No2 GOLDIE HAWK
Trainer: Chris Wall – Jockey: Andrea Atzeni
Place Accumulator Perm (Races 1-7)
