Neil Morrice: International Racing- Monday 1 February 2021

Neil Morrice:

Neil Morrice brings you all of his best bets and tips for Monday’s racing coming your way from Sedgefield, Lingfield Park Wolverhampton and Dundalk.

SEDGEFIELD

Race 4 No:5 GLENDUFF

Trainer:Nicky Richards – Jockey:R Day
Getting weight from each of his foes, GLENDUFF takes the eye coming back from almost a year’s absence for a stable amongst the winners. He demonstrated that he can operate fresh with a win on his only start of 2020 at Market Rasen. Furthermore he’s lightly-raced and should have plenty more to offer.

Race 6 No:4 EVENT OF SIVOLA

Trainer: Mark Walford – Jockey Joe Williamson

EVENT DE SIVOLA
was already beaten when falling at Ayr last time but has previously put together a string of earning runs. Still, seeking an elusive first career triumph, he’s worth another chance in a race where hat-trick seeker Sigurd will take out a large percentage of the betting handle.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 5 No:13 KENTUCKY HARDBOOT

Trainer: Mohammed Moubarak – Jockey: Jack Quinlan

The money behind KENTUCKY HARDBOOT on his latest start over hurdles at Kempton went west but can now be recouped with interest in this jumper-bumper. The chestnut had previously run well in three consecutive races over hurdles and was no slouch on the Flat, notching his only success for his current trainer at Yarmouth. Something was clearly amiss last time, and he can prove it with a much improved display.

Race 7 No:1 JARLATH

Trainer: Seamus Mullins – Jockey: Kevin Jones

This stable fired out three winners last week and has bold claims of another collection with JARLATH. It extraordinary that he was allowed to go off 66-1 when landing an identical race to this at Lingfield last month, and he can show it to be no fluke by following-up.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 2 No:2 MY GIRL MAGGIE

Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

Successful here on two of her last three starts, the ultra consistent MY GIRL MAGGIE should take some stopping for a stable that’s made a flying start to 2021. She’s developed a fine understanding with her jockey who can guide her to a popular success with punters.

Race 7 No:9 WOODVIEW

Trainer: Stan Moore – Jockey: Liam Keniry

These colours were on the mark over the weekend and should be carried prominently again by WOODVIEW. The Ajaya gelding has inched closer to a first career success with each outing, and after a near miss at Kempton last time is now primed to go one better.

DUNDALK

Race 2 No:7 STAY WITH ME

Trainer: Darren Bunyan – Jockey: Chris Hayes

The lightly-raced STAY WITH ME can go back-to-back under a 5lb higher mark following her course and distance triumph of three weeks ago. She’s given every indication of being a mare that’s getting better with age, and has a good draw from which to get into a handy early position.

Race 3 No:5 NEVER MISTABEAT (Nap)

Trainer: John Fahey – Jockey: Wayne Lordan

Horses that show the sudden improvement NEVER MISTABEAT did when zipping home here the other day need to be taken seriously. The four-year-old has found a completely new level of form and will be hard to stop, even though burdened with a 12lb hike in the ratings.

Race 5 No1 SILK CRAVAT (Each Way)Trainer: John Geoghegan – Jockey: Paddy Harnett

SILK CRAVAT is no stranger to lugging big weights, as was the case when hinting that his winning turn is around the corner when fourth to Caesar’s Comet over course and distance last month. The three-times course winner has a very capable apprentice in the irons, and given the rub of the green from a good draw should be in the thick of things at the finish.
