HEREFORD
Race 4 No4 SUPASUNRISE (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Finn Lambert
Lambert has forged a good association with SUPASUNRISE who is very much in his comfort zone in this two and a half miles handicap chase. The conditional has ridden the Nap on ten of his last eleven starts, the combination winning at Huntingdon and Warwick and placing on five other occasions. They looked home and hosed only to be mugged in the final strides at Leicester last time, for which compensation awaits.
Race 5 No4 SELKIRK GRACE
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: David Bass
SELKIRK GRACE indicated with her career-best run when second at Taunton that the penny has now dropped for the mare. She made a big move from an unpromising position to chase home Sawpit Sienna and should have more to offer on this, only her fifth outing over hurdles.
Race 7 No4 FOUROFAKIND
Trainer: Harry Derham – Jockey: Paul O’Brien
FOUROFAKIND has improved from race to race in three outings this season and gave Danny plenty to think about on his latest start at Wincanton. He’s strongly fancied to take out the nightcap for his in-form stable.
FONTWELL PARK
Race 1 No2 HIGH TREASON
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
HIGH TREASON takes on a long odds-on shot in Navajo Indy but may be able to cause an upset. After an encouraging first run over hurdles he suffered with a breathing issue and is now equipped with a tongue strap. He’s been in very good form at home.
Race 3 No9 TORNEO (Nap)
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan
TORNEO is a four-year-old taking on senior rivals and getting a handy allowance on his handicap hurdle debut. On just a fourth career start the Toronado gelding can endorse the promise of his wide margin Wetherby success.
Race 4 No1 CALLOFFTHEDOGS (Each Way)
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Marc Goldstein
CALLOFFTHEDOGS is the dark horse in this handicap chase as he returns from a near two-year enforced absence.his limited form over fences was very good, culminating in a snug triumph at Plumpton. He’s certainly a horse that could have more to give, while his trainer will be anxious to make up for the lost time with him.
KEMPTON PARK
Race 3 No5 NATIVE APPROACH (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: William Buick
NATIVE APPROACH got going when it was too late when second on his introduction here. The son of Too Darn Hot will be more streetwise and can prove a match for Calumet who is a pea out of the same pod with one promising run under his belt.
Race 6 No3 FIVETHOUSANDTOONE
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
There are few better-looking horses at Park House Stables than Frankel gelding FIVETHOUSANDTOONE. The issue with him however is his poor strike rate, having posted just one success at Goodwood from 23 all-weather and turf outings. In his favour today is that he’s raised his game since returning to sand, and demonstrated with a couple of recent near misses that he can stem the losing tide.
Race 9 No7 PERTHSHIRE (Each Way)
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: George Bass
PERTHSHIRE made just three visits to the track in 2023, and though failing to trouble the judge showed a certain amount of promise. The Gleneagles gelding returns from a short break having been operated on for a wind affliction, and needs to be taken seriously.
