HAYDOCK PARK

Race 3: No6 – SOLENT GETAWAY
Trainer: Tom Dascombe – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

SOLENT GETAWAY has the points on the board and should prove hard to beat for a trainer/jockey combo that excels with their juvenile runners at this track. The Awtaad colt ran the useful Et Tu Brute to a neck on debut at Chepstow before chasing home Rhythm Master over today’s course and distance when again easy to back. He has every chance of making it third time lucky at the main expense of Al Saariyah.

Race 5: No6 – HIGHLAND AVENUE (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: William Buick

Rival’s form to finish second to William Bligh here last month has stood up, but my best reports concern HIGHLAND AVENUE on his debut for Godolphin. The beautifully bred son of Dubawi, who is out of a Shamardal mare, has put in some eye taking work in Newmarket and is an early foal that has the strength of mind to overcome greenness.

Race 8: No1 – DREAMWEAVER
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: William Buick

DREAMWEAVER can halt the winning spree of Songkran in this mile and a half handicap. The selection has top weight after landing some good bets by a wide margin at this course. He looks the type of progressive staying type his trainer does so well with. Songkran was hit by a 7lb rise for his latest win at Chepstow, which could anchor him.

WINDSOR

Race 2: No3 – EXPEDIENT (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: David Probert

On the back of an encouraging first effort when fourth at Kempton, EXPEDIENT can prove a welcome winner for the Candy stable. The son of Kyllachy is a powerfully made individual that has gone forward in its subsequent work and could prove too hot for Quickstep Lady to handle.

Race 5: No1 – TAAWFAN
Trainer: Owen Burrows – Jockey: Kieren Shoemark

With her knowledge of this course, TAAWFAN can prove a sound investment in this three-year-old handicap. She shaped promisingly when second on her Sandown introduction and endorsed that by comfortably overturning the odds-on Heaven Forfend here. The assessor hasn’t taken any chances with her, but this is a compressed handicap in which the most she has to concede is 8lb.

Race 6: No13 – ROSE GREY
Trainer: Simon Crisford – Jockey: Pat Dobbs

The Crisford stable has been in good form through the mid-summer period and ROSE GREY can add to its laurels by breaking her duck on a first start in Britain. She shaped with abundant promise to be beaten in a photo by Zafeer on her debut at Meydan in the winter and although returning from a longish break is fit and forward enough to open her account.

YARMOUTH

Race 4: No3 – JACINTH
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand

JACINTH represents top connections and looks a worthy favourite for this fillies’ novice stakes. The daughter of French Derby winner New Bay finished third in a well contested Newbury maiden that has brought her on both physically and mentally. She can step lively to upstage once raced all-weather winner Perfect Times, who is burdened with a 7lb penalty.

Race 7: No7 – PRETTY PICKLE
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand

PRETTY PICKLE should help make it a good day for this trainer/jockey combo. The hooded selection returns after a solid run just days after the resumption of racing when she was given too much to do. Wiser for that, she can go one better at the main expense of Captain Claret.
