Neil Morrice: UK Racing Best Bets – Sunday 13 December 2020

International Racing - Sunday 08 November 2020

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Sunday’s racing coming your way from Carlisle, Lingfield, and Southwell.

CARLISLE

Race 1 No7 SEXTANT

Trainer: Keith Dalgleish – Jockey: Craig Nicholl

Five-times Flat winner SEXTANT was good enough on the level to score in Listed company and ran well on debut for new connections to place at that level at Kempton. A first-time visor that day is now dispensed with and the gelding should readily outclass his foes.

Race 4 No3 TOWN PARKS (Nap)

Trainer: Kerry Lee – Jockey: Jack Tudor

This stable is just getting into gear and TOWN PARKS is taken to follow-up his recent Hereford triumph from just a 2lb higher mark. He’s been in the zone in both starts so far this season, and is in the mood to follow up.

LINGFIELD

Race 2 No12 VANITAS (Nap)

Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: David Probert

CAFE SYDNEY has a good record on the Tapeta surface but interestingly triumphed on a first visit to this track in August last year. After taking home a minor cheque the last twice she’s now in a position to return to winning ways back on her happy hunting ground.

SOUTHWELL

Race 1 No6 ARTHUR’S REUBEN (Nap)

Trainer: Sean Curran – Jockey: James Davies

ARTHUR’S REUBEN missed out on what looked a good opportunity last week but can prove worth the wait in this long distance handicap chase. His form for another stable was better than it looked, while he’s having a first outing since wind surgery for a trainer who know the time of day.

Race 6 No1 OCEAN DRIFTER

Trainer: Oliver Sherwood – Jockey: Brendan Powell

The ultra-consistent OCEAN DRIFTER looked good value for his Fontwell triumph last month and seems happier since being equipped with a hood. Along with main market rival Rocheston he has to carry a 6lb penalty, but it shouldn’t stop him.
