Going into this with his tail up following a clear cut triumph at Lingfield where he showed a penchant for the cut in the ground, ALRIGHTJACK can take the honours at the main expense of Myplaceatmidnight. This represents a sizeable step up in trip for the selection but he looked better the further he travelled in the Lingfield race.
Race 3: BALLYHEIGUE BAY (3) 8/1

Recent efforts suggest age could be catching up with this 12-year-old but he was travelling well when exiting two from home at this course last month. Likely to go off at a double figure price but can make an impact if getting into a rhythm from the front.

Race 4: DINO VELVET (2) 33/10

Jockey: Wayne Hutchinson
With very little to choose between DINO VELVET and Eskendash based on Market Rasen placings last month it’s the confidence boost the win provided that can enable the gelding to confirm the form. The 6yo hasn’t quite lived up to the early promise he showed as a juvenile hurdler but he travelled beautifully before putting that latest race to bed and is clearly in good heart.
Race 6: STARSKY (6) 15/10
Trainer: Paul Nicholls
Jockey: Harry Cobden
Hailing from a stable that has its horses in spectacular form ahead of Cheltenham, STARSKY can endorse the promise of his debut effort at Wincanton when second to Now Look At Me in a similar contest. On paper he faces a strong challenge from Shang Tang, but a pleasing bit of work at Ditcheat last week indicates the Nicholls horse can go one better.

Race 2: SCARAMANGA (12) 63/100
Trainer: Paul Nicholls
Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
Although certain to start at prohibitive odds this should be a straightforward task for SCARAMANGA who did everything right at this course last time, only to be run out of it by Airton. There was a flood of money for him that day, and while taking stock of the fact the winner has subsequently been beaten, the losses can be recouped.
Race 5: SMARTY WILD (2) 83/100
Trainer: Philip Hobbs
Jockey: Richard Johnson
SMARTY WILD is in the form of his life and can complete a hat-trick. He took an abrupt walk in the market at Exeter last time but in the race itself never looked in trouble at any stage, coming home unchallenged and it’s understandable that connections want to strike again while the iron is hot.
Kempton Park Best Bets
Race 1: RAKASTAVA (3) 7/1
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Callum Shepherd
A couple of the Channon three-year-olds have needed their first runs back, but that doesn’t apply to RAKASTAVA who should be cherry ripe after two solid efforts on the all weather. He failed to justify a gamble on his debut but improved to beat all but With Caution at Wolverhampton and that looks to have put the edge on him for tonight’s contest.
Race 7: HARRY CALLAHAN (10) 13/10

Jockey: Callum Shepherd
Everything seems to be in favour of the gigantic HARRY CALLAHAN as he will be racing from bang on his rating of 50 and can break from a near perfect draw one off the rail. Equally, most of his foes are out of form, but he comes fresh from a battling victory at Chelmsford which has given him a confidence boost. He worked particularly well in his final gallop for this, and will be hard to beat.
