Hollywoodbets is offering you the option of betting on whether there will be a South African Triple Crown winner this year. Can SOQRAT or NATIONAL PARK become only the fourth horse to achieve the feat? Learn more about the SA Triple Crown along with the betting below, only with Hollywoodbets!

The Triple Crown consists of winning the following three races for 3-year olds:
Leg 1 – Cape Guineas or Gauteng Guineas (1600m)
Leg 2 – SA Classic (1800m)
Leg 3 – SA Derby (2450m)

Only three horses have achieved the feat of winning the South African Triple Crown. They are Horse Chestnut (1999), Louis The King (2014) and Abashiri (2016).

Mike de Kock, who trains the Cape Guineas winner SOQRAT, was the trainer of the first Triple Crown winner Horse Chestnut. Horse Chestnut was recently nominated for the South African Hall of Fame, only to lose out Sea Cottage.

The Gauteng Guineas winner NATIONAL PARK is trained by Eastern Cape based trainer Yvette Bremner. This gelding defeated the likes of Hawwaam and Barahin in the first leg, and will once again enter as a dark horse to these two in the SA Classic.

Below is the betting on whether Soqrat or National Park will go on to win the Triple Crown.

Current betting:
1/5 – NO Triple Crown Winner
4/1 – Soqrat
10/1 – National Park
