Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Khumalo S  Trainer: Houdalakis M

CAPTAIN CHORUS is the best bet on today’s card. He has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He moved up well last time and fought hard to hold all challengers at bay. The son of Captain Al should have no issues with the extra furlong on offer and can notch up his fourth career victory.

Jockey: Hewitson L  Trainer: Tarry S

MAGICAL FLIGHT has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She set the pace last time, but was outrun in the latter stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The drop in trip will suit the daughter of Willow Magic well and she may be hard to peg back.

Race 7: AL MUTHANA (7)

Jockey: Strydom P  Trainer: De Kock M

AL MUTHANA was not disgraced when finishing fourth in the Grade 2 WSB Dingaans last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has worked out well. He has been gelded since that outing which may have been what he needed. The son of Deep Field should be at home over the extra furlong and with Piere Strydom in the saddle, he should take a power of beating.

Race 8: PIN UP (1)

Jockey: Zackey C  Trainer: Peter P

PIN UP was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this distance at the Vaal. She raced from a handy position that day and found extra where it matters most. The daughter of Oratorio meets a similar type of field today and despite her wide barrier position, she should be the one to beat in this type of field.

Race 2: SOLACE (6)

Jockey: Munger R – Trainer: Soma J

SOLACE ran on powerfully to win on debut over 1200m at the Vaal. The son of Master Of My Fate should love the step up to the 1500m. He takes a big rise in class today, but could be anything and may be up to the task at hand.
