Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: SAY WHEN (13)

Jockey: G Lerena  Trainer: J A JAnse v Vuuren

SAY WHEN moved up like a winner last time, but found one too good in the form of Chloris. Her debut effort when finishing second over this C&D was promising. The daughter of Silvano looks to be a progressive type and she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

Race 3: FLYING CARPET (1)

Jockey: L Hewitson  Trainer: S Tarry

FLYING CARPET has taken on much stronger company in his last two starts. His penultimate effort when finishing 0.5 lengths behind Mk’s Pride in the Ready To Run Cup was eye-catching. The son of Judpot drops back to Maiden company this afternoon and should take a power of beating.

TOP BET FOR TODAY

Race 4: DANCE CLASS (7)

Jockey: M Yeni  Trainer: St John Gray

DANCE CLASS was not disgraced when finishing fourth in the Grade 1 WSB Gauteng Summer Cup last time. She lost a length at the start, but finished her race off well. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this distance. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and she can get back to winning ways.

Race 8: HIGH BORN LADY (9)

Jockey: S Khumalo  Trainer: M G/A A Azzie

HIGH BORN LADY was ultra-impressive when winning on debut over six furlongs at the Vaal. She showed good speed that day and drew clear in the run down to the line. The daughter of Master Of My Fate takes on much stronger, but she could be anything and may be up to the task.

VALUE BET

Race 7: PRINCE OF KAHAL (1)

Jockey: D Schwarz – Trainer: R Magner

PRINCE OF KAHAL finished 0.9 lengths behind BOLD RANSOM in the Grade 3 Merchants. He is 1kg better off at the weights and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line. He should be cherry-ripe and can notch up his tenth career victory.
