Winning Form brings you their best tips for Turffontein’s racing on Saturday the 4th of March 2017. Tips provided come from Winning Form, as well as their back page tipster – Magic Tips by eMeM.

Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: LA BELLA MIA(9)
Race 3: SPRING BREEZE(8)
Race 5: SHE’S FOXY(12)
Race 9: FURIOSA(8)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: STAR PROFILE(9)
Jockey: Craig ZACKEY – Trainer: Corne SPIES

STAR PROFILE produced two useful sprints within the space of seven days recently and she could be the right one in a competitive seven-furlong affair. The daughter of Bold Silvano should love the extra ground and she can reverse the form with SPRING BREEZE. She got going late to finish a good 3rd despite racing wide on the inside course recently and that experience around the turn should be priceless.

Race 5: SHE’S FOXY(12)
Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Sean TARRY

SHE’S FOXY has the best credentials in this ordinary maiden contest but it must be noted that she was carded to race at this venue on 28/02. The daughter of Dupont made the expected improvement although she was blown away by her smart stable companion Dalaal on the inside course over six furlongs second time out. She had today’s main rival PATCHOULI QUEEN comfortably behind her on that occasion and clearly has much scope for progress.

TOP BET
Race 8: ORCHID ISLAND(7)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

ORCHID ISLAND is lightly raced and appears really ‘special’ after her breathtaking thrashing of male rivals over nine furlongs in a feature in mid-January. To put that performance into perspective, the daughter of Silvano beat subsequent winner and likely colts Guineas favourite Furiosa by exactly four lengths that day. She has an incredible turn of foot and should take a power of beating on her peak showing. The Mike de Kock entrant is certainly one worth following.

Race 9: JANOOBI(2)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

Just nine male entrants face the starter for this Grade 2 contest over the mile where a decent pace and true result is expected. It does appear that the female version of the Guineas is a stronger event in terms of quality and it could certainly pay to see how Safe Harbour fares in that contest, particularly as the first selection here, JANOOBI finished narrowly ahead of that rival when the pair met in Cape Town just over one month ago. This inmate from the Mike de Kock stable has proven to be unsuited by soft underfoot conditions but he’s talented & had an eye-catching last performance despite his wide draw. He will certainly enjoy the likely strong gallop and can finish much closer to his fellow rivals on the Dingaans run over this c & d.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 7: TAHINI(5)

Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON – Trainer: Sean TARRY

TAHINI wasn’t herself when taking on considerably stronger opposition in her last three runs in the ‘Mother City’ but she will prefer being back on home soil. Interestingly, she finished strongly to be just a short head adrift of the top selection in the event referred to above and the Tarry inmate is now 1.5kgs to the good which clearly brings her into the reckoning. She also jumps from a decent barrier position.
