Neil Morrice shares his best bets and tips for Sunday’s racing from around the United Kingdom and Ireland. UK racing on Sunday 17 March comes your way from Ffos Las and Carlisle, while Irish racing is from Limerick and Wexford.

Here is the list of UK and Irish racing on offer at Hollywoodbets on Sunday 17th March 2019.

Ireland
15:45 – Wexford
16:05 – Limerick
UK
15:55 – Ffos Las
16:15 – Carlisle

Limerick Best Bets

Race 5 – MISSY TATA (2)
Trainer: Gordon Elliott
Jockey: Davy Russell

Not without his problems and returning from a lengthy absence at Fairyhouse last month, MISSY TATA showed no mercy to his rivals to come home unchallenged. Elliott has been pleased with this prolific winners subsequent demeanour and it will take something smart to stop him.

Race 6 – DAKOTA MOIRETTE (2)
Trainer: Gordon Elliott
Jockey: Jack Kennedy

Elliott appears set for a good day and DAKOTA MOIRETTE can take this if his recent Leopardstown exertions haven’t taken their toll. He made a big move turning for home that day but suddenly hit a wall and weakened out of contention. However, it was the gelding’s first attempt at the trip and the ploy to bring him back to the minimum distance can reap dividends.

Wexford Best Bets

Race 1 – CHRISTOPHER ROBIN (2)
Trainer: Joseph O’Brien
Jockey: S Shortall

Having shown promise on his second start, CHRISTOPHER ROBIN disappointed when well supported in a similar race to this at Navan. The blinkered selection is better than that and should be given a chance to prove it. The Last Emperor is an interesting rival and can prove the main threat.

Race 7 –  BRAESIDE (6)
Trainer: Gordon Elliott
Jockey: Mr J Codd

BRAESIDE can round off a good day for Elliott and break a frustrating run of ‘seconditis’. Jamie Codd, fresh from his Cheltenham Festival win in the Four Mile Chase, is a significant booking for a horse that has found one to beat him in each of his last four starts.

Ffos Las Best Bets

Race 2 – DONCESAR DE PRETOT (1)
Trainer: Olly Murphy
Jockey: Noel Fehily

Having proved a costly failure when backed into odds-on at Fakenham last time, DONCESAR DE PRETOT is worth another chance and can be rewarded for his sheer consistency. The six-year-old has played the supporting role in each of his last three starts but Olly Murphy has found what looks the perfect opportunity for him here.

Race 6 – COTTONVALE (4)
Trainer: Christian Williams
Jockey: Nick Schofield

Some intensive schooling can help COTTONVALE to open his account in this after falling in two of his last three outings. The eight-year-old has the best form on offer when completing, and takes plenty of confidence to post for his local stable.

Carlisle Best Bets

Race 1 – JOHNBB (3)
Trainer: Tom Lacey
Jockey: Aidan Coleman

With Hill Sixteen’s connections electing to run at Uttoxeter yesterday this can go to JOHNBB who is getting better with racing experience under his belt and wasn’t disgrace when third to Duarigle at Sandown. He has a bit to find with Cloudy Glen on the book, but can upset the favourite.

Race 5 – SNOWED IN (4)
Trainer: Barbara Butterworth
Jockey: Sean Quinlan

You have to back a fair way to find the last time SNOWED IN visited the winner’s circle but everything looks set for a bold bid from the consistent grey who ran his usual solid race when third at Wetherby last time. This doesn’t seem as it will take much winning, and most of the others have question marks against them.
