GOODWOOD

Race 1 – ORIGINAL OUTLAW 28/10

The Ralph Beckett-trained ORIGINAL OUTLAW was a noted purchase from the Tattersalls 2023 October Yearling Sale Book 1 sale and could make a winning debut.

The Flying Seagull looks a major contender on the back of his pleasing debut third over six furlongs at Chester.

Red Sand finished runner-up at Bath when resuming and might go well now raised in distance.

Nicely-bred newcomer Berkshire Kameo needs to be included on your shortlist.

Race 2- YA HAFHD 7/2

YA HAFHD can get his first win on turf in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Handicap.

Unraced as a juvenile the Roger Varian-trained daughter of Sea The Stars can progress from her reappearance at Doncaster.

A length second over 10 furlongs in South Yorkshire the four-year-old will enjoy the step up in trip.

Race 4 – SEA OF ROSES 6/1

SEA OF ROSES can get her season up and running in the William Hill Festival Stakes.

The four-year-old was third at the same Sussex track to Gather Ye Rosebuds earlier this month over a mile and a half and after weakening on the run in the drop in trip to 10 furlongs will be of benefit.

Invariably highly tried throughout her career, Andrew Balding’s filly was second to the top-class Arrest on her juvenile bow and has run in races like the Musidora, Oaks and Ribblesdale Stakes.

She is likely to come on for the first run and can return to the winner’s enclosure for the first time since beating Infinite Cosmos at Doncaster in her two-year-old season.

Race 5 – FAIR WIND 11/2

FAIR WIND came home nicely racing off the pace to be second from this mark at Ascot following a lengthy break.

Trained by Owen Burrows and could strip fitter for that outing. Remains lightly raced.

Dropping back to five furlongs for the first time looks an interesting move with Bishop’s Crown delivering a good second over six furlongs on heavy ground three weeks ago.

Others to note include the speedy Night On Earth and the Oisin Murphy-ridden Safari Dream.

HEREFORD

Race 1 – GLOBAL ESTEEM 5/4

GLOBAL ESTEEM can break his maiden over obstacles in the Daily Racing Specials @Planetsportbet Maiden Hurdle.

A five-time winner on the Flat he was second on his seasonal bow at Plumpton, where he did not do a lot wrong with the exception of jumping right at his hurdles. With that in mind this track will be more to his liking.

Race 2 – MACTAVISH 5/2

MACTAVISH appears well-handicapped if improving for a reappearance second at Ludlow against similar competition and has a leading chance in the Best Odds Guaranteed At Planetsportbet Handicap Hurdle.

Halifax carries top weight. Scored by four lengths at Kempton over 3m1/2f when last seen and is firmly in the mix.

Behind The Curtain was a good second at this course in latest. Enjoys these conditions and could go well.

Bashford holds each-way claims if improving for a reappearance seventh at Southwell.

Race 3 – FAMOSO 3/1

FAMOSO has been racing well with three placings from past five outings.
Good second over course and distance when last seen and a bold bid is anticipated in conditions which suit in the Horseracing On Another Planet Podcast Handicap Chase.

Tonto Foley has been freshened for three months since a Taunton victory. Could be firmly in the mix.

Pittsburg was disappointing on the flat last time, but returns to fences maintaining a solid chance, while Big Jim Beam makes return after a lengthy absence and has some fair form in novice hurdles.

Race 5 – HARDY BOY 9/4

HARDY BOY suffered a couple of near misses last season and can start this season with a bang in the Get Free Bets At Planetsportbet Rewards Handicap Chase.

Beaten a neck into second twice at Taunton over two miles and seven furlongs in January, he was stepped up to three miles and one at this venue, finishing third.

Coming back in distance to two miles and five is not a negative off the same mark and cut in the ground will be to his benefit.
