LADY AMHERST ran on well on debut over seven furlongs and steps up to the mile today which may suit the daughter of Ideal World. Gavin Lerena takes the ride and with the natural improvement that can be expected, she looks to be the one to side with here.

Race 6: GENTLEMAN’S WAGER (5)

Jockey: K Matsunyane – Trainer: Janse van Vuuren

GENTLEMAN’S WAGER jumps from pole position and is the only runner on the day from the Johan Janse van Vuuren yard. He goes for the hat-trick here and the manner in which he won his last start over 2600M would suggest that this is very much on the cards. He is however carded to run on 29 Nov and his progress in that event will need to be checked.

Race 7: OCEAN CITY (11)

Jockey: W Kennedy – Trainer: P Peter

OCEAN CITY has her second run after a rest, but she is a speedy sort who managed to fight off all challengers in her comeback win over this distance. It is always encouraging when Warren Kennedy keeps faith in the ride.

PHILLYDELPHIA gets the services of a 4kg claiming apprentice. Her last two runs have been solid and she was only caught in the shadow of the post in her last outing over this distance. A repeat of that effort would make her a big runner in this contest. She is carded to run on 30 Nov and that result will need to be checked.

Jockey: M v. Rensburg – Trainer: M Houdalakis

ROCK YOU has only had the two starts, both over six furlongs. She was running on well in her last outing and should appreciate the extra ground on offer this afternoon. She has her second run after a rest and if not needing one more run, she should give a good account of herself here.
