UK Racing Best Bets – Tuesday 2 December 2019

Tuesday 2 December 2019

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from UK Racing at Lingfield, Southwell and Wolverhampton on Tuesday 2 December 2019.

Lingfield Best Bets

Race 3: BALLYART (3)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies
Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

BALLYART is weighted to turn the tables on Pres from their encounter here last month when the latter prevailed by two lengths. Conditions will be identical in terms of trip and ground but BALLYART has greater scope for improvement and can keep up the good form of his stable.

Race 5: IMPERIAL ACOLYTE (4)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies
Jockey: Jamie Bargary

Although he ultimately weakened after trying to make all, IMPERIAL ACOLYTE showed enough of his old zip when reappearing at Ludlow to suggest he can soon find his way into the winners’ circle. He only weakened approaching the final flight and will benefit from a slight cut back on the distance ladder.

Southwell Best Bets

Race 1: LOVEHERANDLEAVEHER (2)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson
Jockey: Nico De Boinville

Henderson doesn’t send many of his powerful strong here and that augers well for LOVEHERANDLEAVEHER who doesn’t have many miles on the clock and has taken the eye in work leading up to this. The 7yo ended a sparking campaign last season by winning a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon and just needs to prove fitness is not an issue to land the spoils.

Race 3: ONE TOUCH (9)
Trainer: Ben Pauling
Jockey: Nico De Boinville

Former Henderson assistant Pauling looks to have the key to this maiden hurdle with ONE TOUCH who after winning a point-to-point ended last season with a fluent Bumper success at Chepstow in April. The selection has been well tutored to now go jumping and should prove hard to beat.

Race 7: SMALL PRESENT (8) (Each Way)
Trainer: Sue Smith
Jockey: Sam Coltherd

SMALL PRESENT wasn’t beaten far when making a mid-division finish 9n his debut at Carlisle, only weakening on the uphill climb to the finish. He should relish this much easier course, and with the benefit of that run behind him get into the shake-up.

Wolverhampton Best Bets

Race 1: HIGH FORT (2)
Trainer: Karen McLintock
Jockey: Jason Hart

HIGH FORT has looked like a horse getting ready to win, especially when doing everything right when second in a field of 14 at Newcastle last time. He’s back out at the same level and has an excellent draw from which to seize the early initiative, and should be hard to catch. He hails from a stable that rarely miss when the money’s down.

Race 3: VOICE OF DUBAWI (12) (Each Way)
Trainer: Paul Webber
Jockey: Martin Dwyer

Having run past beaten horses to be never closer than at the finish on her Brighton debut, VOICE OF DUBAWI can progress and make an impact in a maiden in which newcomer Dubai Quality might prove her main foe. The selection wears a hood when working at home and can be a little fizzy, but if consenting to settle can have a say at a good price from a cracking draw.
