Race 6: PEEP SHOW(2)
Race 10: BIG SHOT(9)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: WILL PAYS(2)
Jockey: R Danielson – Trainer: Janse van Vuur

WILL PAYS is ultra-consistent and he transferred his solid turf form onto this surface, two weeks ago. The four-year old gelding pushed the sand sprint champion Trip Tease hard over the minimum trip on his seasonal and sand debut before coming off 2nd best in a decent line-up. He will strip much fitter and is more comfortable over today’s extra furlong. The Imperial Stride gelding takes a big drop in class and has strong claims despite a wide draw and big mass. The likely blistering pace should suit him well.

Race 5: ALACA(2)
Jockey: R Danielson – Trainer: RR Magner

There are some very fast types in this competitive field and an exciting finish is expected. ALACA has won 2 of his 3 career starts and the manner in which he cruised past his rivals on his sand debut last time, suggests that he will relish the likely suicidal pace. The Trippi chestnut was returning from an 11 week break so should strip fitter and can handle the rise in class. The Roy Magner inmate still has plenty of scope for improvement.

Race 8: TRIP TEASE(1)
Jockey: P Strydom – Trainer: LW Goosen

The Louis Goosen stable holds a very strong hand in this listed handicap and the sand champion TRIP TEASE is back to defend his title in this contest. The speedy Trippi gelding has only tasted defeat once in nine c & d efforts and despite a nervous start, he still cruised to victory in his recent prep run. The five-year old gelding deservedly shoulders a big mass but he should still take a power of beating with regular pilot Strydom in the saddle.

Race 10: BIG SHOT(9)

Jockey: R Munger – Trainer: L Kruger

BIG SHOT is in the form of his life and he ran way above his rating when he finished strongly for a close 2nd behind GUY FROM DUBAI (6.5kgs worse off) over this c & d at conditions level, three weeks ago. The chestnut gelding is much better treated on today’s handicap terms and he holds strong claims in this non-black type event.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: RUN FOR REVELRY(7)
Jockey: S Khumalo – Trainer: SG Tarry

RUN FOR REVELRY has been defeated just once from three c & d efforts and she showed welcome signs of a form return, recently. The Sean Tarry inmate made her seasonal debut two weeks ago and after a poor effort, she showed plenty of guts and determination in producing a cracking subsequent effort on the grass a mere two days later. The four-year old filly quickened well over the mile before she was outrun late into 3rd and she now has her third run back from a break. The daughter of Fort Beluga’s 14 pound superior sand rating tells the full story and she could be a major threat from pole position.
