- The first of soon to be retired trainer Stan Elley’s entrants, this Silvano gelding is having his third crack in the July.
- He didn’t disgrace himself in the farce last year when running on late under a big mass
- Has has a smart prep, which culminated with him finishing well to win the Cup Trial over nine furlongs (1800m) on this track, four weeks ago.
- His wide draw is a major concern, particularly as the pace may not be very strong
- Will be running on, but might be too late.
- This is his peak run and he meets FUTURA on 4kgs better terms on their J&B Met clash.

Sensational form since returning from break, best handicapped, track & pace only obstacles but respect.
MAGIC TIPS Comments:
- LEGAL EAGLE will be the most talked about runner & a deserved favourite.
- This three-year old son of Grey’s Inn has had a sensational path into this contest, having only won his maiden earlier on in March this year
- He has improved significantly since and crushed his rivals in the Grade 1 Derby over 2450m at Turffontein in late April.
- However, he was even more impressive when slamming Killua Castle (2nd in Summer Cup) & other older rivals in the Grade 3 Jubillee Handicap last time.
- The obvious concern is how he will handle this track, but the pace could be the major factor.
- He is best handicapped and deserves huge respect.

- The fourth of five Silvano’s represented in this contest, the Woodruff inmate produced a quality performance in this race last year under a top ride.
- The main concern is that he hasn’t won for quite some time but his form since has been solid, particularly behind FUTURA in the Cape
- He has cracked a good draw this time
- His new pilot has won the July before
- The five year old won’t have any issues with a sedate gallop
- A placing is probably the most his connections can hope for
- He carries 4kg less this year

Likely pacesetter, prefers galloping track but runs for this jockey, watch.

- The likely pacesetter and the only representative of his late sire Jet Master in this event.
- The four-year old gelding produced the run of his life when staying on for 3rd, beaten 2.35 lengths by FUTURA (4.5kgs worse off) in the J&B Met in January.
- He has been below-par in his three runs leading up to this contest but showed some improvement behind PUNTA ARENAS (2.5kgs worse off) last time
- His stable pilot may resort to adopting the tried and tested front-running tactics.
