The conditioner of OYSTER NUT has finally heeded the chestnut filly’s cry out for more ground and the ultra-consistent daughter of Dupont could be rewarded with victory. She is effective on both local surfaces and ran on nicely over a mile last time despite racing wide. She will again wear blinkers but from a better draw and could take some beating.
Race 6: GOGETTHESHERIFF(1)
Jockey: Cheyne G – Trainer: Strydom J V A
The Jacques Strydom yard holds a strong hand in this non-black type handicap and the brilliant course specialist GOGETTHESHERIFF gets the nod despite his hefty mass of 62.5kgs. The chestnut gelding is searching for a hat-trick of wins after he produced an impressive late burst to beat a high class field last time out. He has only been defeated once from six polytrack attempts and could enjoy the ‘soft hands’ of Greg Cheyne.

This is a most intriguing sprint event with a few natural speedy types. The form book points to HAPPY LION who was an impressive c & d winner at a similar level, three weeks ago. The runner-up unfortunat- ely did the form little favour when finishing downfield on Monday but this son of Silvano could have a real future on this track. He didn’t escape the handicapper’s wrath but is the form contender and can follow-up from another good draw.
Race 8: LOVE FROM AL(9)
Jockey: Naidoo S – Trainer: Bremner Y
LOVE FROM AL has done well in both her c & d efforts and she is in good touch. The Yvette Bremner charge was outrun late into 3rd in slightly weaker company on the grass last time but she is capable at this level and is drawn well at gate 4.

Race 1: BOSTON PARTICLE(1)
Jockey: Thabana C – Trainer: Strydom J V A
This is a competitive opening maiden contest but the Amadeus Rocks formline could come to the fore. BOSTON PARTICLE was making late headway when just out of the placings in that five furlong event on his polytrack debut, two weeks ago. The four-year old gelding wasn’t disgraced against winners on his local debut prior to that and he now has his peak run. He should enjoy this extra distance and will be competitive in this field.
