Of course the runner-up Captain Alfredo crushed a quality field subsequently and that enhances the form. The four-year old produced a decent sprint on the polytrack under top weight next time out despite racing wide.
Race 8: IMPERIAL VELVET(7)
IMPERIAL VELVET is consistent and he may have just felt the effects of his journey down south when weakening over an extra furlong three weeks ago. He produced an eye-catching penultimate run in a strong field in the ‘Mother City’ and should be back to his best today. The veteran chestnut gelding holds a solid c & d record and he is well drawn at gate 5.
