Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: SWISS NOTE(2)
Race 5: LEOPARD LILY(1)
Race 6: FASHION TALK(7)
Race 8: QUINTELLA(7)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: CRONOLOGICAL(1)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Van Zyl G H

CRONOLOGICAL did too much with blinkers in her poor last start but could make amends without the head- gear tonight. The daughter of Mogok had promising form on both local surfaces prior to that and she finished well for 2nd in her only c & d start, three runs back. She has drawn midfield and should go very well with Marcus in the saddle.

Race 4: MACKDESI(1)
Jockey: Ngcobo C – Trainer: Scott C

MACKDESI had excuses for his disappointing last run but will relish the likely cracking gallop in this contest and he can return to winning ways. The Australian import has solid credentials on this track and he won a very good contest over this c & d in his penultimate effort at a similar level. He will again be partnered by the 4kgs claiming apprentice and can make swift amends.

Race 5: INTERGALACTIC(3)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Tarry S G

The three-year old filly INTERGALACTIC was disappointing when she only managed a weak 3rd at this level over seven furlongs on this track last time but she clearly has more to offer. It is well documented that she should have gone much closer in her penultimate run and the daughter of Kahal was a super-impressive winner of her maiden over this c & d, second time out. She could enjoy reverting to the mile and the Tarry inmate is expected to bounce back to her best form.

Race 9: FAREEQ(9) – TOP BET
Jockey: Delpech A – Trainer: De Kock M F

FAREEQ found plenty of betting support when he produced an attractive debut over six furlongs on the grass, two weeks ago. The imported three-year old gelding took a long time to get into top stride but he eventually got going smartly to finish runner-up in a competitive event. He is clearly above average and his pedigree suggests that he will relish the mile. The son of Nadeem is drawn midfield on his polytrack debut and he should make natural improvement. The Mike de Kock inmate will take a power of beating in this field.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 8: JIVE SESSION(4)
Jockey: Balloo A – Trainer: Moore I S

JIVE SESSION heads up a competitive line-up of fillies and mares in this low-key handicap and the fitting of blinkers could make all the difference to the chestnut mare. She took a while to shed her maiden tag over this c & d but has done extremely well since. The Ivan Moore inmate is versatile and she ran on strongly for a close 4th over a mile at a much higher level, three weeks ago. That earned her a two pound penalty but there is clearly more to come from the daughter of Opera King who drops heavily in class tonight. She will again be ridden by her 4kgs claiming apprentice.
