Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: CABINDA(4)
Race 2: VENICE IN MAY(10)
Race 3: RAES’ DYNA JET(4)
Race 4: KILMOKEA(10)

Magic Tips Best Bets
Jockey riding horse
Race 1: OLIVER QUEEN(9)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Dennis BOSCH

OLIVER QUEEN was fancied when he tired late after showing good speed on his fair debut at Scottsville in mid-October. The Var colt has obviously shown decent work back home and he will again enjoy the services of top jockey Anton Marcus. His conditioner’s horses usually go well on this surface.

Race 2: VENICE IN MAY(10)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Gareth VAN ZYL

VENICE IN MAY has shown promise in both his efforts to date and he made the expected improvement when staying on for 2nd after setting the pace from a poor draw second time out. He came from behind to finish 2nd best on debut over seven furlongs on this track prior to that and may settle better without blinkers tonight. The bay colt has obvious room for progress and should handle the mile on his pedigree. He has unfortunately cracked another wide draw but should still go very well in this line-up.

TOP BET

Race 3: MINDS EYE(10)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

MINDS EYE is the narrow first selection in this competitive field. She raced wide but still ran on smartly for 2nd over six furlongs on this course, second time out. Admittedly, that was in an ordinary line-up but the well-related daughter of Visionaire is entitled to have improved further & she should relish the step up to the mile. She jumps from a better draw tonight.

Race 4: KILMOKEA(10)
Jockey: Brandon LERENA – Trainer: Robbie HILL

KILMOKEA is highly rated by her yard and she attracted betting support in both her promising runs to date. However, she was heavily backed when running on for 2nd in a competitive line-up over seven furlongs on a rain-affected polytrack second time out. The grey filly suffered a bump at the start that day and she will prefer facing her own sex this time around. She has plenty more progress to come and should handle the mile. The daughter of Kildonan could be the right one here.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 5: THIRTYTWO SQUADRON(8)

Jockey: Tristan GODDEN – Trainer: Charles LAIRD

THIRTYTWOSQUADRON was promoted to first after being bumped at a crucial stage over this c & d recently but there was still plenty of merit in his performance. He raced up with the fast early pace but stayed on strongly at the wire. The promotion earned him a four-pound penalty but the track specialist is better drawn and he drops slightly in class now. He should be competitive once again.
