Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: HOT CHILLI(4)

Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Garth PULLER

This is a most intriguing opening event as a few of the principle contenders clashed at this same venue, three days ago. Fortunately, the top selection HOT CHILLI isn’t one of them. The Garth Puller inmate is still improving and he pushed a classy sort hard over six furlongs on this track when equipped with blinkers, five weeks ago. The Announce gelding will again wear the headgear and he should be equally effective over this minimum distance. He gets the services of Marcus and should go close.

Race 2: SINPHONIA(3)

Jockey: Keagan  DE MELO – Trainer:  Mark DIXON

SINPHONIA has made vast improvement since trying this surface and she has plenty more to offer. She showed good speed before finishing 3rd in her last two c & d runs and the formline of her last run could be worth following.

TOP BET
Race 8: FOREST(2)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Sean TARRY

The three-year-old FOREST has come into his own since going over ground and he looks extremely progressive. He slammed his maiden field over this distance in his penultimate outing but, was even more, impressive on his handicap debut at this level over this c & d, next time out. The son of Silvano pushed a proven stayer hard before going down half a length into 2nd and he may have been let off lightly by the handicapper after receiving just a one pound penalty. The Sean Tarry inmate gets the services of top jockey Anton Marcus and he should take a power of beating.

Race 9: SAARIKH(8)
Jockey: Eric S’ NGWANE – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The three-year-old SAARIKH was disappointing when he finished a well-beaten 3rd over ten furlongs recently but he has shown enough on the Polytrack to warrant serious consideration in this weak field. The son of Asiatic Boy should love this rise in distance and he will benefit from a 4kgs apprentice claim on his grass debut. He has scope for further progress and is the one to beat.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 7: QUEEN OF CREDIT(12)
Jockey: Collen STOREY – Trainer: Robbie HILL

The three-year-old QUEEN OF CREDIT finally returns to the grass and she holds strong each/way claims in this field. The daughter of King Of Kings showed good earlier potential on this track as a juvenile but she wasn’t able to give of her best on the Polytrack. She made late headway in each of her last two runs on the Polytrack and has plummeted in the ratings. Her wide draw isn’t a major issue as she usually runs on late
