Magic Tips Best Bets

Top Bet
Race 1: SCANDOLA(11)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Mike BASS

SCANDOLA has found tons of betting support in both her promising starts to date and she is obviously showing encouraging signs back home. She was very green when 2nd best behind another highly rated sort over this c & d last time but that experience would have brought her on further. The daughter of Fort Wood should continue to progress and she is the confident first selection of the raced runners.

Race 3: AUDITORIUM(1)

Jockey: Heavelon VAN DER HOVEN – Trainer: Glen PULLER

AUDITORIUM seems to have benefitted from the 22-week absence as he bounced right back to his best form with a smashing last effort in soft conditions over this c & d. The Glen Puller inmate clearly seems to enjoy the cut in the ground and he fought on gamely when pipped at the post, that day. He was in turn exactly three lengths clear of the 3rd placed finisher Show Stealer and now has his peak effort.

Race 6: VICTORIA LAVELLE(6)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

This is a most interesting renewal of this Grade 3 sprint and purely at the weights, it does seem a one-horse affair. However, there are some lightly raced up-and-coming sorts who should give the top selection VICTORIA LAVELLE plenty of cheek. Still, trainer Justin Snaith has placed his filly extremely well here and barring any issues with her travelling back from a stint in KZN, the daughter of Captain Al should prove very tough to beat. Her defeat of dual subsequent feature winner Chevauchee over this c & d in early December stands out in her formline.

Race 8: READY TO ATTACK(3)

Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Kustin SNAITH

The solitary three-year old in this nine-horse field is the quality bay gelding READY TO ATTACK who seems ready to do just that after being gelded in late May. The imported son of More Than Ready got his career right back on track as he chased down a lightly weighted rival in impressive fashion over the seven furlongs in yielding conditions. The operation proved to be an instant success & the Snaith inmate looks set to continue from where he left off as a juvenile. He will relish going back over the mile and he should prove equal to this huge task at hand. Of course, he concedes valuable weight to some hard-knocking handicappers.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 5: LONDALOZI(6)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Mike BASS

Just nine maidens go to post for this interesting ten furlong affair and the inclusion of the solitary filly, LONDALOZI is a very shrewd move by top class conditioner Mike Bass. This well-related daughter of Trippi has constantly been campaigning over a mile and after showing initial ability, she has lost her way recently. Still, she is only having her sixth career outing and is bred to love every bit of this distance. In fact, her last run is way better than the margin of defeat shows. The three-year old filly raced handy with blinkers fitted and after dropping out of contention over the final furlong, she started to make eye-catching late headway, indicating she is crying out for this extra ground. Her conditioner has obliged and the engaging of top jockey Richard Fourie is very encouraging. Moreover, she will be fitter this time around and does take on some ordinary male rivals.
