She raced prominently over this c & d in soft conditions that day and stayed on well for 2nd behind a highly rated inmate from the Bass yard. The daughter of Dynasty would have strengthened durng the break and she should make natural improvement on her seasonal debut.

WHISKY BARON is extremely well treated at the weights in this graduation contest but he is having his seasonal debut and his fitness is a concern. That said, there could be a sedate gallop in this small field and the classy import could still prove really tough to beat. The four-year-old gelding showed his true quality with excellent performances since the turn of the year, including going close in the Winter Guineas and Classic behind the top class subsequent July runner-up and Grade 1 Champions Stakes winner, Marinaresco.

There are some top quality three-year-olds on display in this handicap and the formline could be worth following. ONE DIRECTION made the expected improvement when he produced an exceptional turn of foot to win his maiden over seven furlongs in yielding conditions, second time out. He would have strengthened during his eight-week absence and the mile should suit the full-brother to top stayer Seal, perfectly. The son of Silvano is drawn best of all and he should be followed with particular interest during the summer.

The speedy CAPTAIN BAGG possibly just needed his fair seasonal debut in a strong line-up last month and he will be much fitter today. He finished just over one length behind the equally speedy AL WAHED that day but now meets that rival on 3.5kgs better terms and can turn it around over his favourite track & trip. The 4kgs apprentice allowance will be a major plus.
