Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from Kempton Park, Beverley, and Fontwell Park on Tuesday 18 August 2020.

Tuesday Schedule

KEMPTON PARK

Race 1: No2 – AERION POWER
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

With his stable going through the gears Stoute can take out this novice stakes with AERION POWER. The son of Kingman has shown abundant promise in his homework and can give owners King Power a bright start to the week ahead of Art Power’s tilt at the Nunthorpe.

Race 5: No4 – RENAISSANCE ROSE (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: William Buick

Having skipped a good opportunity over the weekend owing to unsuitable ground, RENAISSANCE ROSE has and even more straightforward opportunity to get off the mark in this fillies’ novice. The Shamardal filly created a good impression when fourth on her debut at Ascot, and will benefit from this step up to a mile.

Race 7: No6 – LEAD SINGER
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: James Doyle

Lexington Force created a favourable impression when scoring here on debut but a 7lb penalty for that triumph could make things tricky for the colt who could find LEAD SINGER too hot to handle. The selection attracted market support and shaped well when just out of the money on his own debut at Haydock. He’s gone forward for that and also worked well on Polytrack at home.

BEVERLEY

Race 4: No4 – NORTONTHORPE BOY
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

The most experienced runner in this nursery, NORTONTHORPE BOY can gain a deserved first career success. He was chinned by Innse Gall in an identical race at Ripon last time and has a good chance of going one better at the main expense of Footstepstothehart.

Race 9: No5 – LISMORE (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Luke Morris

LISMORE is a filly on the March and strongly fancied to complete a hat-trick in the nightcap. Since moving onto grass she’s attracted a welter of support on all three starts, and though fluffing her lines at Ripon then made no mistake stepping up in trip at Chepstow and Bath. She defied a penalty with plenty of her sleeve last time, and can further progress now that she tackles two miles.

FONTWELL PARK

Race 2: No1 – JEN’S BOY (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville

JEN’S BOY was returning from a lengthy absence when second to Waitonit on his chase debut at Southwell at the end of last month. He won two handicap hurdles in a select campaign when kept to better ground, and looks poised to take this out for top connections.

Race 4: No7 – WASDELL DUNDALK
Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Nick Schofield

The French-bred WASDELL DUNDALK caught the eye on more than one occasion last season and comes back off what could be a handy mark. His trainer is enjoying a bright start to the new season, while the horse has more scope for progress than anything else in the field.

Race 5: No8 – ARTHUR’S SIXPENCE
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: David Bass

There are not many miles on the clock of ARTHUR’S SIXPENCE who showed gritty determination in both his recent wins and remains well handicapped. Getting weight from the majority of his foes, he should prove hard to stop.

Race 8: No3 – WISECRACKER
Trainer: Ben Case – Jockey: Bryony Frost

Frost has struck up an effective partnership with WISECRACKER, who doesn’t know how to run a bad race. In nine races the combination have posted five seconds placings and one success. The selection’s accurate jumping can prove a key element around this tight figure-of-eight course.
