Race 2: KIMBERLEY(6)
Jockey: B LERENA – Trainer: C S LAIRD
KIMBERLEY made the expected improvement second time out and he should continue to progress. The bay gelding showed good speed over this c & d that day and despite suffering a bump in the latter stages, he stayed on for a close 3rd, beaten just one length at the line. He now faces his own age group and is a major contender.
Race 3: LIFE IS GOOD(8)
Jockey: A DELPECH – Trainer: A J WRIGHT
LIFE IS GOOD showed decent pace on his fair debut and it could be worth following the progress of Sir Edmund in the previous race as this chestnut son of Var finished just under three lengths ahead of that rival, six weeks ago. As mentioned in the prior event that formline could be worth following. The new recruit to the Alyson Wright team should make natural improvement and must be respected.

Race 4: HANDSOME HARVEY(3)
Jockey: A MARCUS – Trainer: I S MOORE
The long-time maiden HANDSOME HARVEY has kept his form well for some time now and today could be his day, particularly with top jockey Anton Marcus engaged. The five-year old bay gelding stayed on for 2nd in his comeback run on the polytrack recently and he should strip fitter now. He was runner-up over this c & d in his penultimate effort and clearly deserves his first career win. He is the yard’s only runner on this card.
Race 9: INGA(6)
Jockey: W KENNEDY – Trainer: G H VAN ZYL
INGA faces maidens for the first time in her short career and she could be a major force on her track debut. The Gavin van Zyl inmate made good improvement when she challenged strongly and finished a close 3rd against winners over this distance, second time out. She has drawn very well in this competitive line-up and could be the one they all have to beat.
