PRETTY PENNY had a legitimate excuse for her below-par last run when she tried the turn but she showed top quality prior to that and can bounce straight back today. Of course she faces recent conqueror SCHIPPERS on 3kgs better terms but the latter has race-fitness on her side. The Woodruff inmate was expected to fare better than 4th behind subsequent winner Donny G over this track & trip recently but she is back facing her own sex today and that could prove to be significant. The chestnut daughter of Var will love the likely blistering pace.

Some decent handicappers head to post for this competitive mile contest which is loaded with pace and a true and exciting finish is expected. LONE SURVIVOR is a fast improving type who fought on smartly to beat a decent field over this trip at the Vaal two weeks ago and he still appears ahead of the handicapper despite the resultant four pound penalty. He won his only start at this venue and has much scope for improvement though the slight reservation is how he will handle the lights.
