Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: DANZA(4)
Race 5: CUMBERLAND(9)
Race 6: BIG SHOT(10)
Race 8: SHAMAL(13)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: DANZA(4)

Jockey: Weichong MARWING – Trainer: Alec LAIRD

DANZA is a lightly raced three-year-old with useful form and he will strip fitter after his smart comeback performance, four weeks ago. He should enjoy this tight circuit and will have no issues with this trip. The Alec Laird inmate will be aided by a good draw and Weichong Marwing.

Top Bet

Race 2: MONARCH AIR(5)
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE – Trainer: David NIUWENHUIZEN

As expected, MONARCH AIR, appreciated dropping back to maiden company as she produced an improved last run behind a highly rated sort. She is ideally c & d suited and has strong claims from a much better draw this time around. Andrew Fortune retains the ride on the daughter of A P Arrow who is incidentally her conditioner’s only entrant on this card.

Race 3: LINGERIE(10)

Jockey: Gunter WROENGMANN – Trainer: Robbie SAGE

LINGERIE is improving steadily over the further in distance she goes & very importantly she has track experience. She wasn’t given the smartest ride but still made steady progress over shorter last time and could be an entirely different proposition over this distance today. The Robbie Sage inmate is well-related and she represents good each/way value

Race 5: EARL OF DERBY(1)

Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE – Trainer: Alec LAIRD

This a competitive handicap which should yield an exciting finish, particularly as the pace should be hot. The top weight EARL OF DERBY has all the class to go close despite his big mass. He didn’t seem to enjoy setting his own fractions in a strong field last time and weakened late over nine furlongs as a result. The Alec Laird inmate has met strong opposition in the past and his record proves that the mile is probably his best distance. He is undefeated from two c & d efforts and could enjoy reverting to more familiar tactics.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 4: ROYAL MASTER(11)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

ROYAL MASTER badly needed his comeback run and he will strip fitter now. The lightly raced son of Jet Master showed good earlier potential and had an eye-catching handicap debut run over this c & d, prior to the break. He was gelded during the layoff and the Mike de Kock inmate definitely deserves another chance. Admittedly, he will prefer a galloping track but is drawn well and continues to come down in the ratings. He should be competitive and will enjoy a likely strong gallop.
