The son of Querari should have no issues with the rise to 1200m and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.
Race 3: DRAGON DRAGON (7)
Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: M Khan
DRAGON DRAGON showed good improvement when second in her last start over this C&D. The daughter of Twice Over is a progressive type and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, she can go one better. TOGETHER AGAIN stayed on when third over this distance at the Vaal last time. She is in a good space and is one of the leading contenders.
Race 4: BAD MEDICINE (6)
Jockey: G Lerena – Trainer: J A Janse v/Vuuren
BAD MEDICINE stayed on when second over 1000m on this course, on debut. The son of Vercingetorix has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. He should have no issues with the rise to 1200m and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.
Race 5: KARANGETANG (1)
Jockey: G Lerena – Trainer: J A Janse v/Vuuren
KARANGETANG produced a decent comeback run over 1200m on this course. He has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from ten starts over this distance. The son of Erupt is the stable elect with Gavin Lerena up and he should strip much fitter. He may be the one to side with in this field.

POCKET WATCH is better than his last start at the Vaal. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He won his maiden over this C&D. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his awkward draw of eight and may be hard to peg back.
