Winning Form Best Bets

Race 3: SEAL MY FATE(1)
Race 4: ANGEL OF MERCY(1)
Race 5: TRUSTY JIM(12)
Race 10: SHOT(6)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: ROXY LADY(5)
Jockey: Sampson J – Trainer: Goosen L W

ROXY LADY probably found six furlongs too far for her last time but the speedy daughter of Seventh Rock could relish dropping in distance and she has shown decent form thus far. Her career best effort came over this c & d during the winter and the four-year old filly has lively claims in an ordinary contest.

Race 2: BOULOGNE(8)
Jockey: Sturgeon I – Trainer: Erasmus L J

BOULOGNE is at his level-best over this minimum distance and he finished strongly for a close 4th on this track, two weeks ago. He runs particularly well for this in-form jockey and has lively claims in this field. His stablemate MAGIC boasts very good form, having finished runner-up in five of his last six starts on the sand. It must be noted that he met a high class newcomer when 2nd best on the sand last Thursday but it will be interesting to see how he shapes on this track. Thus far, the son of Mogok is yet to shape on the grass.

Race 3: SEAL MY FATE(1) – TOP BET
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Janse van Vuur

SEAL MY FATE has produced some smart performances to date and she is by some distance the pick of the raced runners in this event. She was returning from a short break when she ran on strongly for a close 4th over six furlongs nine days ago, despite racing with a slipped saddle. The daughter of Horse Chestnut has already proven herself over this distance and she will strip fitter today. She should take a power of beating.

Race 9: MANX PARK(6)
Jockey: Thackeray M – Trainer: Binda C

MANX PARK reached a competitive mark in his merit rating and he continued his conditioner’s good recent run of form with a smart last c & d victory over a few of today’s rivals. The Clinton Binda inmate switched at a crucial stage but still produced a strong finish to get up for a deserved victory. He escaped with just a two pound penalty and can follow up.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 8: YUKON GOLD(8)
Jockey: Brown S – Trainer: Erasmus L J

This is a most intriguing sprint topliner, particularly as there aren’t any very speedy sorts. There could be a sedate gallop by sprint standards and the six-year old chestnut YUKON GOLD can profit most. The Leon Erasmus inmate has shown encouraging signs recently and he moved up well before tiring late into a decent 5th over the c & d, two weeks ago. He has a bit to find with the 3rd placed runner, HEYWOT on that outing but the likely false pace could make a significant difference.
