She would have come on from the run and will strip a much fitter horse. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and the combination should go one better.

PRAGMATIST is lightly raced with good form lines to his credit. He challenged strongly in his last start over 1800m at Turffontein but found one too good in the form of Bonete. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. He carries a handy galloping mass of 55.5kgs and from pole position, can notch up his third career victory.

UMTHOMBO WOLWAZI was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The son of Elusive Fort received a seven-pound penalty for that victory. He meets a similar type of field this afternoon and can notch up the hat-trick.
