There are some really quick types in this competitive maiden event where DRUM FIRE has been well placed by her top conditioner. She was unfancied but ran on smartly for a good 4th on debut against male rivals over 1160m at Turffontein recently. She would have come on with that experience and is sure to love the likely suicidal pace. The Tarry inmate is favourably drawn and she represents decent each/way value here.
Race 8: KOMESHANS FLIGHT(7)
An interesting match race between the two flights, KOMESHANS FLIGHT and DAWN FLIGHT could ensue in this final event, with the slight preference for the ‘young gun’ who is the mount of Piere Strydom. This daughter of Mogok has shown promise from day one and she is progressing smartly. She had an excuse but still produced her customary late burst when 4th on her handicap debut on the classic track last time out. The inmate from the Gavin van Zyl yard has lots more room for improvement and she is worth following.
Race 5: SUPANOVA(10)
Jockey: Hennie GREYLING – Trainer: Leon ERASMUS
SUPANOVA is fast reaching a competitive merit rating and he showed glimpses of a form return last time out. He finished just behind a few of today’s rivals that day but could be an entirely different proposition from a favourable draw this time around. The Mogok gelding continues to drop in the ratings and he can provide the upset in a wide open affair.
