Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: SUYOOF(11)
Race 3: IL DUCE(2)
Race 5: NOBLE STAR(5)
Race 6: WINDY EXPRESS(12)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: SUYOOF(11) – TOP BET
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

SUYOOF drifted alarmingly in the betting market on debut over this c & d but produced a cracking debut behind a proven top quality sort, two weeks ago. The Mike de Kock inmate challenged strongly and was beaten a neck at the wire but would have come on appreciably from the experience. He should make natural improvement and could take some beating in this opening event.

Race 4: GAIN GROUND(7)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The Mike de Kock yard is well represented in this highly competitive but small field. The riding engagements suggest that Delpech’s mount, GAIN GROUND is preferred but her stablemate NOOR could have plenty to say about that. That said, the narrow first verdict does go to the former who could make her experience count. The daughter of Fort Wood has produced smart form to date, having shed her maiden tag over this trip during the KZN winter. She stayed on for 3rd in her comeback run over shorter on her Highveld debut recently and will strip fitter today. She will prefer this distance and has a handy galloping mass.

Race 7: FIRST DANCE(1)
Jockey: Ian STURGEON – Trainer: Paul PETER

FIRST DANCE made an exciting return to the Highveld as she flashed her blistering pace over seven furlongs on this track, two weeks ago. The Paul Peter inmate loves this course and she was caught late in strong company that day. She is effective over this slightly shorter distance and could go close despite the resultant three pound penalty.

Race 8: PRESCIENT(11)

Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Barend BOTES

This is a competitive low-key fillies and mares handicap and caution is advised. PRESCIENT has been thereabouts in her last few outings and she was surprisingly docked two pounds in her rating after her last run. She is well-weighted in this event and has obvious claims with Khumalo in the irons.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 3: SAMURAI BLADE(12)
Jockey: Craig ZACKEY – Trainer: Dominic ZAKI

SAMURAI BLADE and NEPTUNE’S JEWEL both produced eye-catching debut performances and the pair could fight things out in this opening leg of the Pick 6. The former drifted in the betting market and was slightly slow into stride over seven furlongs on this course that day but he ran on strongly to finish just out of the money. That experience would have brought the Australian import on and he should relish this extra furlong.
