NEWS: Stormers tie down generational talent Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu to new deal

The Cape side announced in an official statement that the budding talent had agreed to a contract extension to remain in Cape Town for the foreseeable future.

“Mercurial backline talent Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has signed a contract extension that will keep him in a DHL Stormers jersey until at least 2027,” a statement said.

“The former Junior Springbok captain and age-group star has already made the step-up to the senior squad with ease and will continue to grow in the DHL Stormers system over the next three years.

“Having made his DHL Stormers debut in the cauldron of a Vodacom United Rugby Championship quarterfinal in 2022 at the age of just 20, Feinberg-Mngomezulu has since shown his immense value as a flyhalf who is able to cover multiple positions in the backline.

“An ace goalkicker with incredible ball skills and attacking instincts, Feinberg-Mngomezulu is also able to impose himself physically on the opposition both with and without the ball in hand.

“DHL Stormers Director of Rugby John Dobson said that he cannot wait to see Feinberg-Mngomezulu continue to grow within the DHL Stormers environment.

‘“Sacha has been earmarked as a generational talent since he was a schoolboy and it has been great to see him break through into the senior ranks in the last few seasons.

‘“Now that his future here is confirmed we are looking forward to seeing him develop further and fulfil the potential that is clear to anyone who has watched him play.

‘“He has the ability to become a world-class flyhalf and we want to equip him with everything he needs to do just that.

‘“Our intention is to retain the top talent we have here before looking elsewhere and this is the first of a few announcements that we will make to show how serious we are about continuing this project and keeping the bulk of our current squad together until at least 2027,”’ he said.

“Feinberg-Mngomezulu said that he wants to continue learning from the DHL Stormers coaches and feeding off the quality players that surround him in Cape Town.

‘“I grew up in Cape Town supporting the DHL Stormers and my experiences in the senior squad over the last three seasons have been amazing.

‘“We have some incredible players here and I want to keep learning from all of them and the coaches. I’m really excited about what we can all achieve together in the future,”’ he said.
