Italian Serie A: Week 35 Preview

Week 35 Preview

Our football expert previews round 35 of the Italian Serie A which resumes on Friday the 3rd of May 2019.

It looks as though none of the bottom three sides fear relegation as they continue to drop points on a weekly basis. The race for the top four has offered more entertainment with six sides still in contention. That’s enough small talk for now, let’s get down to business.

Friday 3 May

Juventus 7/10
Draw 26/10
Torino 17/4

Juventus have been brilliant at home this season as they have remained unbeaten with 15 wins and just two draws from 17 games. City rivals Torino are unbeaten in their last six matches, including back-to-back victories.

The reverse tie ended 1-0 and I’m expecting another low-scoring affair. The Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market is tipped at 7/10.

Saturday 4 May

Chievo 9/4
Draw 2/1
SPAL 27/20
Relegation-bound Chievo are bottom of the table with just two wins from 34 matches, scoring 25 goals and conceding 69 times. SPAL are unbeaten in their last three games, including two wins and one stalemate last time out.

The last two meetings have ended goalless but the Biancazzurri have been in decent form and look likely to edge this one. A small punt on SPAL will do the trick.

Udinese 7/2
Draw 28/10
Inter Milan 7/10
At the time of writing, Udinese are yet to play their match at Atalanta. They have been excellent on home soil of late with four wins from their last five games. Inter Milan are winless in their last four matches but managed a 1-1 home draw against Juventus last time out.

Despite Udinese’s form at home, Inter have won the last four meetings at the Dacia Arena. The away win is the way to go.

Sunday 5 May

Empoli 13/10
Draw 51/20
Fiorentina 19/10
Empoli have been dismal with three losses from their last four matches but will be desperate to claim maximum points here with relegation looming large. At the time of writing, Fiorentina are without a win in their last 11 games.

Six of the last eight meetings between these sides have seen both teams find the back of the net. Follow the trend and take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 11/20.

Sassuolo 13/20
Draw 28/10
Frosinone 39/10
At the time of writing, Sassuolo are undefeated in their last four matches. Their record at home leaves a lot to be desired with just five victories from 17 games. Frosinone have been terrible of late with three straight defeats, scoring six goals and conceding just once.

The last four meetings at Mapei Stadium-Citta del Tricolore have produced 18 goals at an average of 4.5 per game. Get on the Totals – Over 2.5 Goals – at 8/10.

Lazio 12/10
Draw 51/20
Atalanta 2/1
Lazio have been inconsistent in recent weeks but are coming off a hard-fought 2-1 win away to Sampdoria. Atalanta – at the time of writing – are unbeaten in their last 10 matches in all competitions, including consecutive wins.

The Eagles always seem to bring the heat on home soil. However, Atalanta are in top form at present. Take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 11/20.

Parma 7/4
Draw 47/20
Sampdoria 31/20
Parma have managed just one measly win from their last 14 league games, while Sampdoria have suffered four losses from their last five matches.

The hosts are still in danger of being relegated to Serie B, so it’s important that they pull up their socks and utilize home advantage. Back Parma to claim all three points on Sunday afternoon.

Genoa 29/10
Draw 51/20
Roma 19/20
Genoa have been dreadful in recent weeks as they are without a win in their last six games, scoring just twice and conceding 11 goals. Roma are unbeaten in their last five matches with three wins and two draws and will be looking to build on that.

La Lupa are unbeaten against Genoa in the last nine meetings with eight wins. Enough said, take Roma to come away with all three points.

Napoli 1/4
Draw 47/20
Cagliari 9/1
Napoli have been strong at home with 11 wins from 17 matches, scoring 35 goals and conceding 14 times. Cagliari are off the back of a 3-0 defeat away to Roma. Their away record has been horrendous with just two victories from 17 travels.

I don’t find the straight home win too appealing with the lack of value. Instead, I’m going for Napoli on the (-1) Handicap at 7/10.

Monday 6 April

AC Milan 7/10
Draw 11/4
Bologna 4/1
AC Milan have had a bit of a roller-coaster ride this season and with just one win from their last eight matches, they will be looking to finish the campaign strongly. Bologna have been excellent with three wins from their last four matches, scoring nine goals and conceding just once.

The Millan giants have won five of the last six meetings between the sides and look likely to add to that. The away win is tipped.

TREBLE TIPPED @ 9/2
Roma Win 19/20
Napoli (-1) Handicap 7/10
AC Milan Win 7/10
