Round five of the Italian Serie A kicks off on Tuesday the 19th of September! Find out who our football expert is backing.

What a week it was for yours truly on the tipping front last time out, picking nine out of 10, including a winning treble for a second consecutive week! This time the selected trio of teams won at a healthy 7/2 so stick with me as the hot streak continues.

Round five will see Napoli face their first real test of the season with Lazio looking to become the first team to shave points off the Azzurri. Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan have maintained 100 percent win-records but that can all change in the blink of an eye. Let’s find out what’s to be expected.

Tuesday 19 September

Bologna 9/2 | Draw 32/10 | Inter Milan 11/20 (20:45)
We get things underway with Bologna playing host to Inter Milan in the Serie A’s sole clash on Tuesday evening. Bologna have been poor of late with back-to-back losses, scoring just once and conceding five times.

Inter Milan on the other hand, have won all their matches, scoring 10 goals and conceding only once. The home side can’t afford to ship goals like they have been and I feel they will give a much better showing of themselves here. It’s a bit of a judgement call, but I’m backing Under 2.5 Goals at 11/10.

Wednesday 20 September

Benevento 13/2 | Draw 4/1 | Roma 7/20 (18:00)
Benevento and Roma will open proceedings on Tuesday evening in what will likely be a one-sided affair. The hosts have been dreadful as they remain the only team without a point to their name, scoring just once and conceding 10 times.

Roma will be determined to make it back-to-back wins after thrashing Hellas Verona 3-0 at home last time out. The Giallorossi have plenty of goals in them, while their newly promoted opponents are shipping goals like it’s going out of fashion. Get on the Away Teams To Score In Both Halves – Yes – at 9/10.

Atalanta 7/20 | Draw 38/10 | Crotone 8/1 (20:45)
Atalanta and Crotone are next up to do battle. The former have been below-par but will find this as the perfect opportunity to build some momentum. Crotone are the league’s worst goal scoring team as they are yet to find the back of the net conceding six times.

The home team will be keen to put on a good show for their loyal supporters, while Crotone will be desperate to finally get on the score sheet. Back Atalanta to win on the (-1) Handicap at 19/20.

Cagliari 23/20 | Draw 49/20 | Sassuolo 9/4 (20:45)
Cagliari were the only team that stood in my way of claiming a full house on the tipping front in round four after the Rossoblu bagged a 2-0 victory at Spal 2013. It was a second straight win for Cagliari and they will be looking to add to that.

Sassuolo have been dismal with three losses on the trot, scoring twice and conceding eight times. They were brave against the reigning champions last time out despite going down 3-1 and I’m expecting another courageous effort from the travelling team. The last two meetings between these sides produced a total of 15 goals and with that in mind, I’m backing Over 2.5 Goals at 15/20.

Genoa 11/10 | Draw 23/10 | Chievo 26/10 (20:45)
Genoa – who are yet to win a match –  put in a good effort last time out besides suffering a 3-2 defeat on home soil to Lazio. Chievo were average at best as they settled for a 1-1 draw against Atalanta last weekend.

Four of the last five head-to-heads at Stadio Luigi Ferraris have seen both sides find the back of the net. Goals are expected here so I would suggest climbing on the Both Teams To Score – Yes – market at 9/10.

Hellas Verona 43/20 | Draw 49/20 | Sampdoria 12/10 (20:45)
Hellas Verona will lock horns with Sampdoria on Wednesday evening. The home side have struggled to get going and find themselves second from bottom on the table, without a win, scoring just once and conceding 11 times (the most in the league).

Sampdoria are unbeaten with two wins and a draw after three matches and will be determined to keep up that terrific form. It won’t be cut and dry, but the away team are tipped to edge the win.

Juventus 7/20 | Draw 4/1 | Fiorentina 7/1 (20:45)
Juventus and Fiorentina will go toe-to-toe in what promises to be an entertaining affair. The Old Lady have won all four of their matches, scoring 13 goals and conceding only three times. Fiorentina have won back-to-back games and will be hoping to keep the champions at bay.

The last five meetings between the teams have seen both sides find the back of the net. I’m tipping an upset here with the Viola looking well worth a punt on the Double Chance at 37/20.

Lazio 5/2 | Draw 26/10 | Napoli 1/1 (20:45)
Lazio and Napoli will clash in what I consider to be the match of the week. Both sides are firing with Napoli top of the table, winning all four matches, scoring 15 goals and conceding just twice. Lazio have won their last three games will be eager to maintain that sort of form.

Napoli have won the last two meetings at Lazio, scoring five goals without reply. The Azzurri are looking too good right now and I feel they will be too strong for the hosts.

AC Milan 1/4 | Draw 5/1 | Spal 19/2 (20:45)
AC Milan and Spal 2013 will square off in the penultimate match of the round. The Rossoneri have won three of their four matches, while the newcomers have suffered consecutive losses, conceding two goals in each match and failing to find the back of the net.

Let’s not read too deep into this one. The home side have the form and momentum behind them and it to add AC Milan to all multiples.

Udinese 17/10 | Draw 49/20 | Torino 15/10 (20:45)
Udinese and Torino will wrap up gameweek five in a match that can go either way. The Bianconeri Friuliani have been poor thus far with three losses from four matches but they have managed to score in every game.

Torino are undefeated with two wins and two draws from four games. The last three meetings between the sides have seen a total of 15 goals so I’d suggest getting on the Both Teams To Score – Yes – Market at 5/10.

LAST WEEK’S TREBLE WON @ @ 7/2
Fiorentina Win 5/10
Roma (-1) Handicap 5/10
Lazio Win 1/1

THIS WEEK’S TREBLE TIPPED @ 9/2
Bologna v Inter Milan – Under 2.5 Goals 11/10
Cagliari v Sassuolo – Over 2.5 Goals 15/20
Udinese v Torino – Both Teams To Score (Yes) 5/10
