Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Bruce Bvuma, has expressed heartfelt gratitude and admiration to mentor and club legend Itumeleng Khune.
Bvuma’s tribute comes as Chiefs prepare to honour Khune’s remarkable 25 years of service at the Soweto giants.
The tribute to Khune is set to take place ahead of the team’s final home match of the season against Polokwane City at FNB Stadium.
Earlier in the 2023/24 season, Chiefs announced their decision to bid farewell to Khune, marking the end of an era.
This makes Saturday’s match highly anticipated, as fans and players alike look forward to celebrating the legacy of a true club legend.
“Itu is a legend. I will miss his personality, obviously, he taught me a lot, coming from development.
“I trained with the first team when I was still playing for the development without a first-team contract and Itu was there for me.
“He was helping me. Sometimes I didn’t have money to come to training and Itu was there for me, so here we are talking about a very good person”, Bvuma said.
The Soweto giants are gearing up to host Polokwane City, with securing a top-eight position as their main priority.
At present, Amakhosi are positioned in the eighth spot on the league table, while Rise and Shine are just one position below them, both teams having the same number of points.
This match promises to be a critical showdown as both teams strive to solidify their standings and gain an edge in the competitive race for the top half of the table.
