Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has been nominated in three categories as he is vying for the coveted Footballer of the Season, to become only the third shot-stopper to scoop the award.

Andre Arendse was the first goalkeeper to bag the big prize in 2001/02 followed by Itumeleng Khune in the 2012/13 campaign.

Orlando Pirates’ star player Patrick Maswanganyi was snubbed in the Footballer of the Season category, even though he has so far picked up the most DStv Premiership Man of the Match gongs.

However, Maswanganyi will hope to draw solace after being nominated for the Midfielder of the Season award, alongside Sanele Barns and Devin Titus.

The man in the middle have been under the spotlight this season, with a number of calls coming into question through the 2023/24 season. However, they too will be awarded for their efforts along with their assistants.
