“A change is as good as a holiday”. It’s an old adage but one we firmly believe in here at Blog HQ. We’ve decided to shake things up this week with each of our writers’ providing their own treble for the week. There’s also the usual Writers’ Treble, as well as the extra price boost market.

Since 30 December 2016, Newcastle have played six home matches in all competitions, winning five and drawing on one occasion. They’ve cleared the (-1) handicap in four of those wins, and against some decent opposition in the form of Aston Villa and Birmingham City. They should be too good for a Bristol side who have only managed to pick up nine points on the road this season. The Toon should prove too hot to handle in front of the St. James’ Park faithful. Get on the (-1) handicap at a tasty 13/10.

Super Rugby is back this week and there are some epic clashes in store including a North v South Derby. Historically, these games have tended to go the way of whichever side has home ground advantage but I feel that’s set to change this weekend. The Bulls have got a whole host of their stalwarts returning including Springbok fly-half, Handre Pollard. Their opponents, on the other hand, are missing a lot of talent with the likes of Huw Jones, Juan de Jongh and Leolin Zass all missing out. I reckon the Bulls at 5/4 is one of the shrewdest rugby bets available this weekend.

Hertha Berlin have lacked consistency in recent weeks but will be glad to return to home soil on Saturday evening, where they have been brilliant with an impressive eight wins from 10 matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding just five times.
Eintracht Frankfurt have been poor of late with back-to-back defeats without scoring and conceding five times in the process. Die Adler are winless against Hertha Berlin in the last five meetings. The home win is tipped.
