Robinson has long been the first-team goalkeeper coach at the Brazilians.
Mokwena occupied the second assistant role with Downs before leaving for Orlando Pirates and more recently Chippa United.
His position wasn’t filled upon his departure, although Robinson took up his place on the sidelines during Premier Soccer League matches.
Now that Mokwena is back with Sundowns, Robinson will simply return to his goalkeeping coaching duties.
Sundowns social and media communications manager Shupi Nkgadima told Isolezwe: “Wendell is a goalkeeper coach at Sundowns, he was never a second assistant coach.
“He will return to his old position as goalkeeper coach on a permanent basis as he did when Rulani was here or in his absence.”
Nkgadima added: “Some goalkeeper coaches do sit on the bench at some other clubs. That doesn’t mean these goalkeeper coaches are assistant coaches.”
