AmaZulu players incredulously surrounded the referee after he blew for a foul, while the Sundowns boss and Amazulu assistant Aitor Van De Brulle also had a heated moment of their own on the sidelines.

Speaking on the scuffle with the AmaZulu technical staff member, coach Rulani Mokwena said they spoke about it and Van De Brulle apologised, so it’s finished, and he will not comment on it.

AmaZulu team members also felt prejudice when they were denied what appeared to be a goal scored by Hendrick Ekstein in the 65th minute of the game.

In a press conference after the game, coach Rulani said his team beat a very good side.

“Make no mistake, we beat a very good team. But that’s what champions have to do, they have got to win even under difficult circumstances and that is what we did today. We won 10 games in a row.

“We are very happy with where we are and the mentality that we have. We have, sometimes, to grind out the results. It’s not always going to be pretty, it’s tough and it’s difficult for these group of players.” said Coach Rulani.
