The 28-year-old had been a regular with the Team of Choice since signing from Kaizer Chiefs in 2017.

He was expected to leave at the end of the 2019/20 Premier Soccer League season when his contract expires.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Kadodia explained the club would not take up the option of extending Xulu’s contract with a short-term deal, to conclude the current campaign.

Kadodia said: “We’ve made a decision that we don’t want to keep him in suspense – he has a bright future ahead and he should take this time now to be marketed to clubs that his agent is looking for.”

A number of players’ contract at the club are coming to an end, with Kadodia adding: “There are other contracts finishing, but so far this is the only one we have made a decision on.

“We are going to keep a few others on a short term contract.”

Xulu’s agent Paul Mitchell added that the search for a new club for his client is already underway.

He said: “It was a great three years for Siyanda, he enjoyed his stay and the club was fantastic to him. Given the situation, we understand the reason for the club not being able to give him a short term deal.”
