Race 4: EMPRESS ROCK(2)
Jockey: K Zechner – Trainer: W H Marwing
EMPRESS ROCK has shown fair ability and she produced the run of her career when she finished strongly to be close-up in her recent sprint on Summer Cup Day. That was in a very competitive line-up, the formline of which should be followed. This daughter of Rock Of Rochelle will prefer the extra ground and she has the experience of racing around the turn.

Race 5: MUJALLAD(1)
Jockey: C Murray – Trainer: M De Kock
There are some classy speedsters in this competitive Progress Plate over five furlongs where a close finish is expected. The grey colt MUJALLAD is versatile and he produced a quality last effort when finishing close-up behind the talented filly Exquisite Touch & subsequent Grade 2 winner The Thinker. The imported son of Redoute’s Choice was having his first start in blinkers that day and he will again wear the headgear. Of course he now has his peak showing and can defy the official ratings.

Race 7: DIAMOND DANCER(3)
Jockey: B Lerena – Trainer: P A Peter
DIAMOND DANCER expectedly flopped at Grade 3 level recently but that formline was boosted when the 10th placed finisher Liege won the Grade 1 Summer Cup next time out. This inmate from the red-hot Paul Peter yard has his quirks but he showed promising comeback form prior to that last run and he will prefer this major drop in class. He should enjoy this ten furlongs and interestingly, top jockey Gavin Lerena is unbeaten on the bay colt.

Race 8: BANKING APRIL(1)
Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: M Houdalakis
The top weight BANKING APRIL appreciated the sharp drop in level as she returned to form when going down narrowly to her consistent stablemate September Bloom over ten furlongs a fortnight ago. She was rightly upped two pounds but the versatile bay mare is game and she should register another smart performance at this level. The mile won’t be an issue for Muzi Yeni’s ride.

Race 9: WHEEL OF TIME(5)
Jockey: C Murray – Trainer: M De Kock
The three-year old WHEEL OF TIME is a smart sort who undoubtedly needed his seasonal debut badly two weeks ago and he will be fitter now. He showed his above-average qualities last campaign when he had subsequent Dingaans 3rd placed finisher Vacquero behind him over this c & d in his penultimate effort. The chestnut son of Tapit has a stiff task with his big mass in older company today but he is drawn well and should be highly competitive.
