TOP BET FOR TODAY

Race 1: CUT GLASS (7)

Jockey: V.Rensburg M – Trainer: Smith G

CUT GLASS ran a good race when finishing third in her local debut over a mile. She cast a shoe in the running that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. The daughter of Querari takes a drop back in distance and gets the blinkers fitted for the first time. The headgear should sharpen her up and she will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line.

Race 2: SUPER NOIR (3)

Jockey: Strydom K – Trainer: Strydom J

SUPER NOIR finished second in his stable debut over six furlongs. The manner in which he ran on up the straight, caught the eye. The son of Capetown Noir will be at home over the mile and can go one better here. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Kyle Strydom which is a big plus.

Race 3: MARRY IN HASTE (2)

Jockey: Cheyne G – Trainer: Greeff A

MARRY IN HASTE has produced two decent efforts since relocating to PE. The manner in which she finished off both those efforts suggests she will enjoy the rise to the mile. She jumps from a handy barrier position today and may be the one to side with.

Race 5: DUKE OF CARDS (1)

Jockey: Gould T – Trainer: Smith G

DUKE OF CARDS has some decent recent form against stronger. It must be noted that the form of his last start has been franked. He has won once and finished third twice from six starts over this C&D. He takes a drop in class this afternoon and can get back to winning ways.

Race 7: GHALYOON (2)
Jockey: Ferraris L – Trainer: Paddock G

GHALYOON ran a fair race when finishing 2.15 lengths behind the winner over a distance short of his best last time. The son of Querari has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. He is likely to race up with the pace and with Luke Ferraris in the saddle, he can get back to winning ways.
