GUITAR KING is much better than his last two starts suggest. He raced wide in his penultimate start and was reported to be not striding out. He cast a shoe in the running last time and should have finished closer as he hung in the latter stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Jackson should have no issues with the drop in distance and it is encouraging that Lyle Hewitson takes the ride.

Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: N Kotzen
EMERALD PALACE is the best bet on the programme. She has finished second in her last three starts. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests she will enjoy the rise to the nine furlongs. With a bit of luck in running, she should shed her maiden tag.
Race 4: ANSE LAZIO (12)
Jockey: S Moodley – Trainer: W Nel
ANSE LAZIO was ultra-impressive when winning his last start over 2400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He won his penultimate run on objection on this course. He is thriving since arriving in KZN and has a good chance of notching up the hat-trick.
Race 8: TIME TO ROLL (8)
Jockey: L Hewitson – Trainer: A Wright
TIME TO ROLL was ultra-impressive when winning on debut over seven furlongs on this course. She ran on well and won a lot easier than the official margin suggests. The daughter of Jackson should love the step up to the mile. She takes on stronger today, but could be anything and maybe up to the task at hand.

Race 5: TECHNO CAPTAIN (5)
Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: P Gadsby
TECHNO CAPTAIN took on much stronger company in his last start and is much better than that effort suggests. He has won once and finished third four times from six starts over this distance. Muzi Yeni knows him well and if keeping on a straight line, he should get back to winning ways.
