Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: MARK THE DOORMAN (5)
Jockey: W Agrella – Trainer: Y Bremner

MARK THE DOORMAN has not been far off the action since relocating from Gauteng. He set the pace in his last start over a mile and was only run out of it late. He suffered a speedy cut during that run and did well to finish where he did. A repeat of his penultimate effort over this c&d would make him the one that they all have to beat, starting from his handy draw.
RACE 5: I LOVE MAMBO (3)
Jockey: G Cheyene – Trainer: A Greeff

I LOVE MAMBO has her hat-trick attempt here and has pulled pole position. She ran on well to win her last outing over six furlongs and kept finding after hitting the front at the 250M mark in her win over the c&d in her run prior to that outing. Stable jockey Greg Cheyne retains the mount. All three of her wins to date have come on this surface.

TOP BET
Race 7: MERYL (1)

Jockey: C Maujean – Trainer: T Laing

MERYL is taken to turn the tables on the former, despite them meeting on the same weight terms today, based on the fact that she overraced that day, but was just 0.2L behind at the wire. Stable jockey Greg Cheyne has also elected to ride the latter. The former’s last run over a mile was disappointing, but if bouncing back to form, she should be right up there in the firing line.

Race 8: FINLEY HILL (2)

Jockey: B Fayd’Herbe – Trainer: M Turner

FINLEY HILL has consistent form to his name and his jockey came with a well-timed run to win his last race in the shadow of the post. The slight drop in distance should not be an issue.

VALUE BET
RACE 4: GLORY DAYS (5)
Jockey: C Storey – Trainer: Y Bremner

A competitive F&M 89 Handicap faces punters here. The narrow first choice goes to GLORY DAYS who was considered good enough to be taken up to the Highveld to contest a feature race there. She raced wide that day and understandably faded in the straight. She returns to the poly and if she recaptures the form of her penultimate run on this surface, she should be right up there when they hit the line. She jumps from a handy draw.
